Anyhow, I'm not afraid to admit that his hack is of better quality than my original Phred's Cool Punch-Out!! hack. That hack is almost nine years old. Also, I am not a graphics designer. Not only that, I only had NESticle to edit the graphics back then. JpG did an incredible job with the graphics on this hack. Instead of arguing which hack is better, let's just enjoy this hack for all of the hard work JpG did to make it possible for us to play.

hartosama is right, this version is a lot better (no final boss named Corfram -ah, the randomness-, no characters that look like they were based on a bunch of my friends, and no narcissistic 'Cool' adjective on the title.

Huh? That depends on your idea of "good". This version has nothing but Nintendo based characters and therefore they share the same universe. This version also has a storyline (based on the short cut) and is more family friendly (no faceless demon from hell or whatever).

This version is better in MANY ways. But that is just my opinion. Comparing two hacks created with such different approach is unfair.

They probably use codes. I've seen in speedruns of this game where they have beaten Mike Tyson in the 1st round, but others have told me that it's IMPOSSIBLE to knock Mike out in the 1st round, even if you hit him every possible time. (I don't know how true this is, as I've never beaten Mike, it's just what I've been told).

Not really, with tools, savestates and slowdowns, you can TKO Mike Tyson in 2:59 in the Round 1. This is the world record and only 1 or 2 people managed to do that.

The truth is that Punch-Out!!, being the long lasting franchise it is, hasn't received a lot of games (3 or 4 only) in the last 25 years. Add that to my desire of expanding Team Awesome's excellent work to other media and there you have, in a nutshell, the reasons for the creation of this remake.

Sorry 'bout that. It's not my run. It's a frame-advancement recording for MTPO!! that works on this hack because they're essentially the same game. If I had recorded an actual speedrun of this game, it would have taken at least 3 videos, and I'm just throwing it out there for people to go grab.
