I saw it on Amazon too, but still, that is not the entire story that was shown on Swedish television. That was a five and a half hour long story in four episodes. Luckily for us Swedes, it can be bought here though. Unfortunately it doesn't have English subtitles so the rest of the world could enjoy it. :( I hate it when they cut down masterpieces like this one into very poor and unworthy versions that makes no one happy. Same with Fanny & Alexander and Jerusalem. That is like a crime I think.
Good question, the only release was on VHS many years ago, no longer avialable of course and it was not the whole thing either.
Rather it was the cut-down movie version briefly released in theatres. Originally it was a television mini-series in four parts (I think) running for something like 6 hours, and the "movie version" was only half of this. Such a shame, all that talent and effort going to waste, they have to release the whole package onto dvd/blu-ray, gonna write SVT right now hehe!

Vill se den igen! Varför är det ingen "julfilm" ala SVT i år?

Jättefina, underbara filmer - hela trilogin: Den goda viljan, Enskilda samtal, Söndagsbarn.
Tusen tack.
