Did anyone else notice that wen Paul was talking at the beginning of the video and wen the song started it was a different take. Pauls hair looks different.
The solo sounds dubbed. It's so much louder and up-front than all the rest of the audio, it sounds like a different recording although it's definitely John's playing. And just after the last note John's rhythm playing comes back in with a far more subdued tone that matches the rest of the instruments. There were no stompboxes back then to boost solos. I call some voodoo at work here.
@kevman1ification Often with death threats, unbelievable conditions. First band to do stadium concerts. Many people have forgotten, and younger folk will never experience or realize, what it was really like. what many call primitive equipment, was top of the line then. Vox amplifiers, house PA systems, 2-3 microphones, and 60,000+ screaming fans. Someday everything we use now will be called primitive, lol.
WOW! John playing lead and kicking ass. Again wow... i mean these guys are really good... Every fucking one of them... the wonder is that they could sing and play and write and understand so many styles of music... and then to try and deal with it. I am amazed that they did as well as they did. I mean really... this is the best band i've ever heard.
@skipper8257 Everybody's a critic, aren;t they? George, the Beatles and many before and since were all pioneers by which now some people mistakenly/foolishly judge by today's standards. You can either like it and you don't even without using today's criteria to judge. Ultimately, the Beatles were inventive, good writers and singers, decent musicians and fun as hell. Anyone who cannot see and hear that is a musical moron. they rescued rock from death, and invented the long hair look.
There once was a young man who LIVED for Rock & Roll. His name was John Lennon. He had a friend who ALSO lived for Rock & Roll. His name was Paul McCartney. Paul had a friend who also lived for Rock & Roll. His name was George Harrison. They decided to ask Ringo Starr to replace Pete Best keep their backbeat. And when Brian asked them if he could 'be their manager', well, things would never be the same. They would not only make history; they would change history.
@vinorama58 - yes and I still think that combination of Gretsch and Rickenbacker was their finest and most recognisable guitar sound. It had such a gutsy quality that John's ballsy syncopated rhythm fed-off.
John was very self consciuos of his guitar playing and never wanted footage of his solo's. Crazy really, he was always more than just a rythm guitarist, his chord structures were often very complicated. Gotta love the sound of the 2 Rickenbackers.
I'm not HAPPY...
I wonder what George looks like in his coffin these days?
Eeeewwww! Well, at least he's still making MUSIC. Only
now...he's DE-composing! Get it? DE-composing music?
Get it? Waka Waka Waka! Ahhhhh...I feel better!

Unreal what they could do with such primitive equipment, no monitors, and girls screaming their guts out. I guess true talent always shines through.

Ugh! George's dismal guitar playing! It's a damned
good thing that John and Paul's music was so good
that it didn't much matter how bad George's guitar
(and voice) were terrible!
FrlghtWolf 1 month ago
@FrlghtWolf
What the hell are you talking about. George had one of the greatest styles ever. Nothing fancy but very effective. No George no Beatles pal.
skipper8257 4 weeks ago
@skipper8257- Sentimental but not compelling. While
I adore the Beatles as a group they are not beyond
criticism. George is, among serious guitarists largely
forgotten. He was a good soldier, he did what he was
told...but lets not confuse the barnacle for the ship.
George struggled w/ music. It did not come easy to him.
2 of his 3 great songs got help. When he finally went
solo his biggest hit turned out to be PLAGIARIZED.
We can pity George but we don't need to lie for him.

最高だね。本当の通が知っている、一般の知らないBeatles の大好きな曲は実はこれなのだ。
(もうひとつはI call your name.)
JohnのVocalはいつも通り、もちろんだけど、問題は間奏のLead Guiter ,
これがまたJohnが弾いてるのか?こんなにJohnは上手いのか?
史上最強の曲だね。
