Comtech does not haul or transport drilling fliuds or mud. Comtech treats water in the O&G industry and has provided a green solution for water treatment needs of the industry. Please remove Comtech's mention from this post as it is incorrect. Comtech was not associated with this incident.

Vera, from last night's film got impression DEP was defending the trucker carrying the smelly mud by insisting it was non-toxic without doing their own testing, yet they scraped a couple inches of mud off the lawn of the house in this film that will likely be tested. Will we get followup, one wonders? Or like LeRoy blowout not much followup. All of it cries out for a small testable sample from the public road to find out the truth of what it is. Is DEP protecting us or covering up? Thanks Vera.

@Dissenta --I don't believe it was a DEP person speaking in the video -- thought it was from the drilling co. or Hazmet ---have to call the DEP on this one and see if they took a test sample-- thanks, for feedback.

@veraduerga You're right, the man talking to you assumed the mud was non-toxic because workers were not wearing protective gear and I assumed from man saying DEP was there already and "took a couple inches off my front lawn" and "they just wanted to clean it up for me" that DEP must have communicated to the cleanup workers and to this man that the mud was non-toxic. Sorry I was not accurate but my concern remains that DEP must have let people think mud was non-toxic without testing it yet.

no, I don't -- could ask the state police , who are investigating the crash--? I see a bunch of these drilling mud trucks on Laurel Lake Rd.-- a bit away from the crash site and I can stop next time I pass from my house and look to see the license plates and ask them about the truck and driver, who I heard , also got injured .
