Police have hand guns and you need a permit just to transport them and it is even more difficult to acquire one. automatic guns are completely outlawed. Most of the guns used in crime are stolen and they are hunting rifles, which have been registered and reported stolen. I do not think that civilians should carry around firearms for self defense. The legislation you talk about is foreign to me, but not anybody should be able to carry around a 9mm

A single payer system would have the govmt do the same but as a NONPROFIT, so conflict.
So there would be no conflict of interest if the govmnt were the ones collecting our premiums and disbursing payments to doctors, as they would be administering it as a non profit entity.

Police have hand guns and you need a permit just to transport them and it is even more difficult to acquire one. automatic guns are completely outlawed. Most of the guns used in crime are stolen and they are hunting rifles, which have been registered and reported stolen. I do not think that civilians should carry around firearms for self defense. The legislation you talk about is foreign to me, but not anybody should be able to carry around a 9mm

Health care WAS privatized many years ago - BEFORE the New Deal. The systemic corruption and mortality rate of Americans was extreme.
Conservatives put faith in corporations to "do the right thing", when their #1 goal is making a profit.

1) Fact: most bills aren't read in full. Sad truth, but nothing new.
2) The bill reforms health INSURANCE, not health CARE, curtailing abuses by HMOs and getting coverage for millions more.
3) HMOs run health insurance for a profit, which is a conflict of interest to our health as a people. They only collect our money, take their cut and pay the doctors. They are middlemen and pimps.
A single payer system would have the govmt do the same but as a NONPROFIT, so conflict.

So there would be no conflict of interest if the govmnt were the ones collecting our premiums and disbursing payments to doctors, as they would be administering it as a non profit entity.
HMO routinely kill thousands of people by denying and delaying treatment in order to increase their corporate profits.
You'd have to be a mad man to entrust your health and life to a company that only makes money when they can deny you care or cut corners on your treatment.

The response to the Clinton administration's attempt and the recent supreme court's ruling and predicted ruling shows Americans Want their guns. I respect firearms but what I do not respect are the news media's selective coverage when it comes to firearms.
