  • Maybe if the buyer didn't rip the farmers so much.. they would have enough money to put their children thru schools.. there is a cause and effects to everything.. It's sad that this going on in my country.

  • what the fuck I didnt see my brand in that video, how do I know im supporting al qeda and frickin cults that steal children like gypsies?

  • It is sad to me that videos like this have gotten so few views compared to other stuff like cat videos, music, and movie/TV clips.

  • Not all chocolate companies are like this. Our company, like several others in the industry, use fair labor. We also buy exclusively from many smaller farms, yes, paying a higher price, but also getting a better cacao, with higher antioxidants, and also the good feeling knowing we're doing the right thing.

  • I wanna say F U humanity.. you left nothing unspoiled with your greed and ignorance.

  • Wow, that's messed up. It's really cool to see campaigns like this spreading awareness.

  • Today I wrote to Nestle to see how they react toward this. I'll keep you posted.

  • @talal29 you won't get a reply. they're also the ones draining most the rivers around north amerika for the profit of bottled water. if you like this documentary, you may want to check out FLOW: for love of water.

  • it depends on where you live. it has been broadcasted in several countries

  • @AndreasBirch If you want to see the full docu movie see my channel also read the info and there is a link to vote for this film to win the first price at a film festifal.

    Thanks

  • when does this come out? is it already out?

  • well, not tall chocolate is produced, like that

  • @HardCoreProgrammer1 but most... hearshy's, nestly, mars, the only popular chocolate that I believe (not sure) is fairtrade is cadbury, and I think (not sure) its only in Europe, but I KNOW that cadbury is not fairtrade in America cuz here its made by hershy.

  • @cutiepie316289 interesting info, thanks for sharing. I recently saw a chart grading various chocolate companies on slave policy, and was dismayed to see Cadbury not even on the list and wondered where they stood.

Interestingly, guess who got the worst grade. You'd never expect it, but it was Godiva!

  • @brandon1ucas yeah, I think thats free2work . org I saw that, and my mom used to get me that chocolate since I only ate fair trade chocolate... now I eat divine instead (which gets a grade B).

  • my chocolate just got tastier

  • Better yet, send letters to the major chocolate producers urging them to stop getting their cocoa from slave plantations. It will take fewer people to enact change this way than through voting with consumer dollars.

  • @brandon1ucas watch the full doco and you'll see why this won't work ;) Good idea, well intended, but realistically won't work.

  • @ChineseKiwi I actually did see the whole film, and understand that these corporations aren't exactly responsive to consumer demands, nor are they willing to admit or even examine their faults. Multinational corporations are by nature nearly impossible to influence because of their expansive impact. Realistically, no single solution will do anything. People like you and I need to organize and take the message of the film one step further and ask, "What can we do about it?"

  • oh my goodness,

i adore chocolate i had no idea this was the result.

wish there was something i could do about it.

  • @HauteAntoinette

    You can do something.

STOP eating it is a good start.

  • @417VEGAN You don't have to stop eating all of it, just buy from companies that don't buy from Ivory Coast. There are lists on the Internet, but anything labeled Fair Trade or organic is safe.

  • Hey! It's 47.

  • but it tastes sooooo goood

  • @jar3n i bet it's the blood and sweet of these kids that your tasting you sicken me why you would be so ignorant is beyond me. would you send you or your friends children to harvest cacao in these conditions.

  • @legion986 guess what i just plowed a toblerone and for Christmas all i asked for was chocolate ... i got something else that would sicken you (open your mouth real wide) and one things for sure if my friends or family was put to work they would no p**Se ass questions about it an maybee put those little rats outta business maybe you should do something about it Stella GO GET MY COCOA!

  • Somehow I think all hope is lost for humanity. We now know of these things and yet I see some ppl on here saying "I support the making of chocolate". Granted that might just be a few out of thousands of ppl, but how many of us knowing what we know will act to change the system. Truth is no one will. We will think of it for a few and the forget like so many other things that we know and nothing of, like diamonds. Every girl I know still wants one and so it will be every kid will want chocolate

  • Already in the beginning you know the white people are lying about not knowing there's child labour cos when the interviewer tells about their remours their reaction is denying instead of HEY OH REALLY? IM GONNA CHECK IT OUT and do something about it. Which would be a normal reaction.

srry for my lazy late night bad english.

  • incredible documentary!! it seems that no matter how we develop ...in certain domains, we, the human race.. still remain barbarians..

  • i support the making of chocolate

  • @BrianTakesValium stop taking valium and wake up. there is a world beyond your bedroom, you should go out and explore it sometime. this sort of mentally slow offensive "family guy" comedy isn't funny it just sad like a knock knock joke or laughing at an old person who has trouble opening a door. get your head out of your sphincter and come up with something honest and original; like a baby although from your statement earlier you would probably send it to diamond mine.

  • i love chocolate

  • @Unitor677 Cultivate cacao, and produce his own chocolate.

  • @Unitor677 you must love the flavour of blood sweet and tears then, you sicken me.

  • @legion986 come on they r just monkeyslaves always been for 1000 years

  • Amazing documentary! It was done extremely well.
