  • what's the name of this song?

    fantastic playing,guitar timbre control...

  • David is playing his own signature here not the Custom 24. Check the trussrod cover which says DGT (David Grissom Tremolo)

  • Yes... Thank you Mark for sharing this with everyone! I used to go to NAMM when it was in Chicago many years ago... This is a JEM!

  • If you like David Grissom you should check out Sam Sliva and The Good out of Austin, TX. Grissom did all the lead work on their album and helped produce it...great stuff!

  • Ma encanta David Grissom!!!

I love David Grissom!!! In a musician way of course...

  • Great clip! Thanks for posting this!!!

  • Anyone out there know what the name of this tune is? I don't have any of his CDs but I'd like to start with one that this song is on.

  • not bad for a young kid...(snort)...where do all the bends come from? I know the PRS is a slippery guitar.....Dave never went the whammy bar....I wanna hear this guy let rip

  • When i first heard Dave on the Radio in 1991 I crashed my car on the way to work.. !! rue...i heard the out solo on Mail Order Mystics from John Mayall..then spent all day trying to find the record !!

  • i hear ya . lol

  • original. his storyville work is amazing.

  • sad, i miss storyville.

  • David's work with the Joe Ely band was outstanding. I wish Austin City Limits would release those Ely shows with David in the band . His tone is incredible .

  • Saw him at SXSW with Bobby Whitlock- hung out at Antone's with him and Chris Layton (Double Trouble)- nice folk on top of badass players!!!

  • WooooooooooooW O.O what can I say ---> AWESOME !!!!!!! I have a question !!! you guys think I can get a similar tone/sound out of a custom 24 ???

  • Thanks for looking. Not sure about getting that tone out of a 24. Hopefully someone will respond. Thanks, Mark

  • Absolutely...In the early Joe Ely Band days, Grissom played a 24-fret Standard with a maple top (essentially a Custom 24). His tone back then was not that much different - he may now have a bit more girth with the DGT just due to the guitar being slightly thicker. Playing thru a Badcat Panther helps.

  • Wow how cool is that - tons of tone and feeling! Dave your my man!

  • Thanks for watching & the comment, Mark

  • His tone is amazing, even through my tiny computer speakers!

What kind of amp was he using, (even though i know it's mostly in his touch)?

  • His tone was fantastic. I think he was plugged into an amp that had Paul Reed Smith on it, and also had "Private Stock" on it, so I'm not sure what was going on there. Thanks, Mark

  • wow........this David is really great.

  • Yeah, and seems like a great guy, also.

  • fantastic...hes is still amazing and surprises me everytime..tone wise and with his playing...amazing!!!!!!!!

  • Yes, he is quite incredible. Was amazed at the great tone.

  • he's got so much talent!!

  • Yep! It was amazing to watch him just 3 feet away.
