Why not temporarily raise fares, at least until state funding is resumed? I'd rather pay $3.00 per trip and still be able to get to my job. It may hurt, but I think most people would it agree that it would hurt far less than losing your job.
On night owl service - why not cut back to once every other hour? It would be better than no service at all.
