just moved to fort drum from pensacola florida and have not spent a winter yet.. This was a realization and reminder to how much more i am going to hate this place.. funny video tho.. i live off po valley by the soccor fields(n riva ridge loop) so they better keep that area clear!! i have 0 snow experience!

back in the day when I was graduating AIT, our cadre was reading out our next assignments. When he came to mine, his voice crackled as he gave me my assignment. I spent 5 years at Drum, through the black ice, ice runs, white outs, drifts and have seen my share of tragedy on those roads. I will say, now that I'm retired of course that Fort Drum (...and should be a hardship tour) was my best assignment. My old 1sg (retired CSM now) is in Carthage. Can't wait to visit.

I grew up in Northern New York, a few miles from Fort Drum. I lived in Cali and here I am back again. I love the north country, the people and wouldn't do anything different. My husband on the other hand is a wee bit chilly, get over it, its winter, if I can handle 110 in cali, deal with ny.

This is my first winter coming at ft. drum, and I myself am from California. I used to be excited about seeing the snow for the first time, now I am just skeptical about it. It's freezing, and the winter weather is just coming. No snow yet, so I am dreading when the white shit comes out.
