Another good lesson marty. And you are the reason I wanted to pick up a guitar. You made the videos easy to understand. And the cool thing is my B - Day in coming up soon on March 29th and that was the day I got my first guitar. So these videos may be easy now but man, when I was learning I was like "How the hell do his fingers do that!?!?" LOL, Take it easy man. Keep doin wat ya do!

hey marty or somebody else is it normal to play a G major chord with a finger on the third fret of the b-string. Cause i learned it like this:

E 3

B 0 (3?)

G 0

D 0

A 2

E 3

@MrMyrmica That isn't a regular G though, it's like a Gadd5 or something like that. I do that myself though, makes the G to D transition easier and gives a brighter tone.

@MrMyrmica The chord he's actually playing is a G5 chord, he adds the fith by fretting that B string, though it sounds similar to the G a lot of people prefer the G5, i find it has a nicer ring to it :) try it yourself on other chords, fret random over notes in a chord and see what it sounds like, you'll learn something knew ;D

@BigNoGoZone It's still a G major chord, not G5. The only difference is that by fretting the b string you have an extra 5th instead of an extra 3rd.
