  • After all those years of seeing edited versions of the show, I've enjoyed the complete season DVDs that include the epilogue of each episode. Some even include the Sanka and Grape Nuts commercials Andy and Don did together.

  • When I watched The Andy Grifftth Show Me TV it had the CBS Eye logo.

  • Me has the CBS Eye logo.

  • Do you have any old Honeymooners closing credits with the "V of Doom" yet? That's what I remember on WGN (America).

  • it IS scarier on tv than on youtube

  • B&W credits but Color logo?

  • Usually when I'm watching the Andy Griffith show on TV land, it doesn't even show a logo.

  • I Remember This One Too I Remember The Viacom V Of Doom Appeared After The Closing Credits Of The Andy Griffith Show When It Used To Be On TBS

  • they also showed the Viacom V of Doom on WGN, and on KDSM Channel 17, the FOX affiliate where I live.

  • Did the V Of Doom got replaced with the V Of Steel?

  • What year was the V Of Doom used?

  • 1978-1986

  • 1976 to 1985, actually.

  • @jhzenor61481

    Filmed version: 1976-1982

    Telecine version: 1978-1985 (not 1978-1986)

Warp speed version: 1979-1985 (was seen along with the normal-speed telecine version on "All in the Family" and "The Honeymooners" to name but two)

  • @jhzenor61481

1976-1982 for filmed version, nicknamed "Film-O-Vision V of Doom" by the people who knew it well

1978-December 1985 for videotaped version (its last appearence being on the Honeymooners episodes pieced together from skits on "The Jackie Gleason Show")

  • Was that a good question i made with that logo?

  • Does this station have the V Of Steel most of the time?

  • TV Land has the Paramount Logo at the end, I remember the V Of Steel was on TBS when this show was on that station

  • Ya mean the whistling of The Fishing Hole? Yes I know that theme.

  • At 0:50, there are three logos at the bottom of the screen. Does anyone remember what the middle logo stood for? I used to see that all the time as a kid, but now can't remember what it was.

  • I've always loved the V of Doom!

  • This is EXACTLY why I never came to like Andy Griffith.

  • Amen.

  • Sheldon Leonard was a producer on Andy Griffith?

"Hey you, rummy there. C'mere. Didn't I tell you to never come panhandlin' round here anymore?"

  • now see thats another thing...why do you come off callin me NICK?! (George says "thats your name" "Whats that got do do with anything I don't know you from Adam's off Ox.."Get me..I'm giving out wings!"

  • This was the 1st season to feature gomer pyle

Jim nabors left the show 2 years later which would have spawned the first spin off of the andy griffith show: Gomer Pyle USMC.

  • The "Big V of Doom" at the end is the videotaped version in colour.

  • Dude. Like...no wonder it's called V of Doom. After all the whistling, I was not expecting that.

I think The V of Doom is going to visit me in nightmares.

  • I see even the screen for this video is letterboxed or wide screen. It should not have been changed to that.

  • WGN used to air it with just the V of Doom in 1988. I used to see it with the Pinball before that and the V of Doom. I did not know until 1987 it was from Vicacom until 1987 though. It used to be cut off before that.

  • Which Channel Was This Off From?

  • KDSM Channel 17, they showed the v of doom 1/2the time and 1/2 the time it was the wigga wigga.

  • Which Year Was This from?

  • 1962

  • I Meant Which Year Was This Taken Off KDSM Channel 17.

  • I taped this in around 1995
