What's her classification? Is she a warrior or a rogue? I chose not to recruit Nathaniel Howe, and my player character is a warrior, so I could really use a rogue as I'm having to leave lots of locked chests unopened. Are there any recruitable rogues in Awakening besides Howe?

@AchillesEightyThree She is a rogue, but she has no skills in opening chests. You have to level her up first. Plus, Nathaniel is pretty useful as an archer. I'd suggest recruiting him next time, even if he is a bit of an ass at first. :P

@vampires18 Thanks for the reply! But since posting that comment, I gave in to the nagging voice in my mind, reloaded a prior save and recruited Nathaniel. I'm glad I did, too, because, as you say, he's a brilliant archer, like a dark, moody, slightly-less-altruistic Robin Hood. I also maxed out his stealth ability -- a skill none of my characters in DA:Origins had -- and I'm enjoying using him to scout ahead of the main party to spy on the enemy, which helps me plan combat strategy.

@vampires18 Who's your favourite recruitable character out of the new bunch? I think they're all interesting. In my opinion, they'd be as good as the characters from Origins if you were able to talk to them whenever you wanted. It's a real shame Bioware left that feature out. I'm slightly disappointed I can't chat up Velanna, but then again my character is still in love with Morrigan, so I probably would have resisted that impulse anyway. lol

@AchillesEightyThree I think my favorite is probably Anders. Just because he's a cat lover and a bit of Zevran and Alistair mixed together. Plus, i always loved the hopless mage that could turn into an abomination at any time. And yes, i truly wish I could talk to them whenever I wanted. And chat up Anders even though Alistair is still waiting for me. :D

@vampires18 In my second playthrough as a female Dalish rogue, I grew quite fond of Sten. Because of my character's practical, non-nonsense attitude, she always earned positive approval points from Sten after each conversation; it would have made for an intersting relationship. Being a straight male in real life, I have no natural yearnings toward any kind of man -- but I think my girl would prefer the strong, silent types, like Sten and Nathaniel. Although funny, Alistair was just too soppy.

Speaking as a 360 player: yes they are ugly, particularly backrounds and landscapes outside the map.

Doesn't detract from the game in any meaningful way thankfully. Still I would rather they work character design plot and gameplay rather than the money sink of modern graphics.

If poor backrounds and clipping weapons/armor are the price I pay for such a great and complex game than I gladly pay it.

It's 15 hours o.O. As said above that is longer then a lot of games. Maybe short for an RPG but it's still just an expansion not a whole new game. But yes, Return to Ostagar was way too short, disappointing and King Cailans armor was shit compared to the Blood Dragon Armor I have and then the Dragon Scale Armor. No one was able to benefit from it so it was completely pointless.
