colorme violet, I was wondering. I wonder if you'd fee ok sharing. Was your childhood lacking? Mine was pretty violent. After going through depression, I have no wife, no kids and after ten years alone I guess it will never be. All I have is my photography. Perhaps after i'm gone my images will still be published. Still, I do have a theory about why we are the way we are and the meaning of life. Maybe I should post a video of my own.
my greatest fear is not that no one will remember me but it's the thought that i will age alone and be alone when i die.......i'm so scared too end up alone and not having any children or something anything to left behind that will mark my existence in a way or another......dying like i've never even existed....that's agony too me
Normal is just a word without meaning. Nobody is normal. Humans always want to be something special, because human beings is the most arrogant, sefilsh and self consumed race on earth.
Fact is, we are all totally messed up!! That is human nature.
I believe its one chance also, and evolution and we are only here because of cause and effect, parents had you, and you will turn back to the dirt. Not to say that everything didn't begin at some point by so called "god". Big bang theory, E=Mc2, gravity are things we discover but we still don't know WHY water freezes at 32F. Someone wrote the blueprints for this stuff. Smile you live on through your Child and your a youtube goddess. Maybe thousand yrs ur bones will be dug up like dinosaurs.
We live in a crap society where we work to provide ourselves with materialistic crap such as computers, internet, youtube, ect. and its "normal".
i somethings feel like i am the only person too see it is not normal. People in third world country's are making not more then a dollar helping those, that should be normal.
and that should be remembered not the ken&barbie superstars. Yes i want to be remembered by being normal too bad its frowned upon
wish i could break this spotlight phenomenon for my own good but i cant because i am (just like most others) one off those mental nutcases who cares too much about disturbing the social cohesion.
ooh and sorry for my spelling, going offtopic, and pointless points.... the reason i appologise is because i want to be "normal".
Thank you for your comment reply. I would love to share some of my poetry. Much of it is very personal and reflects how I felt as I battled Panic Syndrome and Depression since I was 18. How would I do that, post it here?
Emily Dickinson left all her 1000+ poems in a box, I believe was almost unpublished in life, was an agoraphobic/depressive recluse. Vincent Van Gogh sold only one painting in life, died of suicide at 37. Thes are two of my heroes. I will have no children. I'm 57 and single with little prospects of procreating. I am leaving 100s of poems in an old box I've written for 35 years. I am leaving art. I am leaving a 31 year old and counting daily journal. We all seek our own immortality, find yours.
Hey Hun type in little boxes on youtube and veiw the variety of renditions of that famous song ...it speaks loudly about the same mundane repetitivness of what is normal , it really is a shame because we do only live once and too often walk away from the true meaning of self to be so called normal ...btw very few people get remembered as the future continues on eventually we will all be forgotten even by family
Hm! Your eyes are actually blue! I didn't notice that before! Girl, you are too clever for 19. For most guys, that is a scary thing, they can't be dominant.
For me, if someone tell me "You are not normal ", I sad "Thanks". Normal people are Flanders!
There are many times I want to do something good for the world for a selfish purpose. So that others will view me as a good person. There are other things (such as the dictatorship in north korea that leads to starving families) where I would like to do something even if I never got credit. Very seldomly, I can truly be empathetic and relate to people. Maybe a legitimately depressed child or something that reminds me of what I was (very holden caufield I know) or what I might become.
I get what u mean when u say that u want to be remembered for something after u die.I do too.If you are anything like me,ur still not sure what is authentically "right" and "wrong" and don't know what u want to be remembered for.I think I want to do something from a humanitarian perspective.
also I think that our media has a lot to do with it. Our media portrays all these "amazing" (by skewed standards obviously) people. We have this fascination with celebrities and people that we interpret as talented (again by skewed standards). Then we read history books about these romanticized people and grow up in a nation where as children we were all told we were "special". In my opinion, the definition of "special" has a strong exclusionary connotation. So we're not all special.
yeah obviously all stats are bull. i think people want to be famous not to be remembered but to be seen by others as extraordinary, to be treated like they are extraordinary when they are alive (much like how many of us felt "special" during childhood).
Not sure why it's so significant to be remembered? If you don't believe in an afterlife, then you won't be looking down on how people are remembering you, so that means you won't know if you're being remember or not anyways. If you want to feel significant, my opinion is, do whatever you can now, cause only the now exists. The rest you have no total control over.
The only comfort I can take in dying is that I might leave a mark on the world, and perhaps not be completely dead and gone. My physical/psychological form may not be here, but I'd like to live on in some way.
I used to feel the same way. For me, I think it was reading and learning about historical or influencial people in the present/past who left their marks and I became entranced by that, and my ego projected that on to myself. My ego wanted me to feel special, to survive, and to be comforted by those thoughts. I eventually learned to let that big part of myself go, and come to a point where I feel comfortable even if I don't leave a mark or live on in some way.
...You, however, will be remembered, Hannah, without the need of those riches. The alien visitors will find an iPod amongst the nuclear debris and there'll be you on it talking about a dream you just had. They'll build a statue to you, paint the world violet and call it Planet Hannah.
Yeah, many of us think we're Mozart when we're really Salieri.
Wanting to be remembered is universal: it's why billionaires build great libraries or institutes or charities - their name lives on. Glasgow has Europe's largest reference library, the Mitchell, and the best non-private school is Hutcheson's Grammar School...
Normal IS boring. We live in a cookie cutter society where everybody does the same thing that everyone else does. Striving to be different and unique has always been a goal of mine.
Aha, I shall live on in!!! Assuming that I die first, although I'm younger than you... lets make deal to remember each other?
I heart my new fantasy posters <3 The ones on the bottom are foil and on the left is an earth dragon, the one in the center is unicorns, and the one on the right is a faerie floating on a maple leaf. The one on top is a big fantasy sequence with waterfalls, faeries, unicorns, butterflies... oh, and bunnies! I should make a vid showing them off ^_^
oops, I meant to write feel.

Interesting that money allows you to be remembered. But I just wonder how many people give these names alone a second thought.
