  • Useless

  • i want to see a Jet back, this thing is not it. :(

  • muppet

  • I like the idea,good job

  • seems like a fair bit of power for such small engines. Would do even better on a lighter foot launch. Apart from the noise, a great idea

  • Wow. I don't think I've ever seen so many trolls in one place. Why does everybody have to point out how "this isn't practical" or "this doesn't look safe." Yeah, buddy, you're right. It's unsafe. He should be wearing a parachute. Oh, wait...

And who the **** says "that CAN'T be efficient" and then asks, "is it?" You just said it was impossible for it to be efficient.

YOU are why kids play video games now instead of flying control-line planes, hunting birds with a slingshot, and going camping.

  • That can't be efficient. Is it?

  • Seems dangerous

  • Love the sound of it :-), but somehow can't see it becoming immensely popular...

Did that glider come with asbestos covered risers?

  • TOW MATTER

  • You need to try it with a 15 meter speed wing . I really liked the near vertical Blast off ! Give the 15 meter wing a try , I think you will be impressed !

  • practicality.... who cares. Sounds awesome!!!!

  • not sure about the practicality of this...

  • A combination of all good things: silent, fuel efficient, environmental friendly and safe.

Really guys, why not reinvent the atomic bomb or something equally creative..?

    This is such BS!

  • What if the jet engines exploded? I mean theres always that 1% chance. The designer sucks because you can see that the back end is wayyyyy to heavy. I bet he has a rocket propelled dildo.

  • Yep, could see flying this in a stealth mission over a neighborhood.

  • This jet pack, an open, cement runway, and luigi's smallest parachute -- a marriage made in, well, heaven:

May need a good set of roller blades though... lol

  • This jet pack, an open, cement runway, and luigi's smallest parachute -- a marriage made in, well, heaven:

  • @MsBeen, it's a bit of a long story, but you can google Kinetic Vehicles and e-mail me--then we won't be limited by character count. Tell me about this competition, you've got me curious.

@TheManInDboX, would it help if we call the fuel Jet A instead of kerosene?

  • heyyy..man thats sooo cool...

can u please tel e how u guyx did that,i am participating in a compitition nd i have to make some thing nice to win...

    please help me..

  • Useless useless what's point you have got jet pack and fly bird can pass you easy.

And paraglide if I'm spelling it right its about joy and fly through wind with help of gravity not stupid jet pack it's not 007 god sake it's paraglide..!!

  • @0172shane This was a poof-of-concept for a stunt group working on some new ideas. The pilot and and designer have worked on many movie sets, including 007 & Batman. Google Sky-Science for the pilot, Allan Hewitt and Kinetic Vehicles for the designor, Jack McCornack. Interesting people.

  • @0172shane The main point of PPG (powered paragliding) is the ability to launch a PG from flat ground rather than the limited number of suitable mountain slopes, and many PPG pilots shut off their engines after they've reached soaring altitudes and then paraglide as usual--with the help of gravity (and thermals, and ridge lift). Jets have less parasite drag and weight than engine-and-prop powerplants, so they might be good for that. As far as "it's not 007" I guess that remains to be seen.

  • @0172shane if i had $1000000 for every correct use of grammer in the sentence, i would be fucking poor.

read a damn dictionary or something, god.

  • @0172shane this is not useless and not stupid... its a great idea !!!! as it eleminate dangerous torque and gyroscopic effect of a standard propeller paramotor unit, also there is no risk of being hit by a turning propeller

  • Agreed, the reverse inflation and footlaunch would be a superior technique, but it's a technique that has to be learned. The pilot had lots of PPC time but no PPG time, so we made it simple by putting wheels under him. The "contrail" has a lot of fresh air mixed in with it by the time it gets back to the canopy--as ground crew I've walked through it many times while making canopy adjustments. It's hot enough to be unpleasant but there's no Raiders-of-the-Lost-Ark skin burning off effect.

  • haha so cute, Jet sound to a gliding chute!

  • Just a thought...This might work fairly well as a foot-launch rig. One could get the wing up with a standard, wind-assisted reverse launch and THEN bring up the jets once turned back into facing the wind. That way, the wing isn't as much in the direct line of hot gases upon takeoff as it is with the trike.

  • The pilot made his own decisions re safety equipment; I personally wear helmet and earplugs when flying with that...pack of jets or whatever you prefer to call it. And yes it's ridiculously inefficient. You're far more likely to see this in a movie or on TV or at an airshow than see somebody just flying around with it. Melting the wing (and/or the rigging) is a genuine concern, enough concern to preclude aerobatics (IMO). Kids, don't try this at home.

  • @JackMcCornack ya, this is a complete waist of money. First thing that went through my mind upon take off was how is rigging and papachute was directly in the contrail. Amazing he ever got off the ground rather then spinning/tumbling out of control in the bushes.

  • this is not a jetpack -.-

  • Terrific video !!! Wonderful flight. But this is NOT a Jetpack...LOL.

  • That would have to be the lightest powerpack there is.

  • seems kinda dangerous

  • Nice, no helmet and no ear protection. "Safety First" right guys!

  • @knoll99 You are riding a Bomb, what is a helmet or ear protection going to do if the thing explodes? if it fails and falls, fuel doesn't typically bounce you know? Also i don't know if you have noticed, but human beings don't typically glide to the ground... So a helmet really wont do much for you, other then block your line of sight, or limit your movements.

  • @TheManInDboX, it's not a bomb. Jet engines don't even use gasoline, they use kerosene or even diesel, which is FAR less explosive than any gasoline powered motor. I've been flying gas-powered paragliders for nearly ten years, and yes when the engine dies, you do glide back down to the ground. In fact, it's very good flying skills development to turn off your engine to practice engine out landings. I've landed for years and years with the engine dead. It's called "paraGLIDING."

  • @knoll99 Well in this application the use of Diesel or Kerosene is very unlikely due to the mathematical equation the two fuels you have listed would not be enough to propel this man upward, you would need quite a bit of wind to help you along. Additionally to use Diesel the the loss of power to make power would be greater then the performance you get out of it.. I.E. you would be better off peddling a prop.

  • kinda unconvetniol

  • I love it. Did you get any melt holes in the wing?

  • Putting jets on an aircraft that flies that slow and doesn't even allow for aerobatics or other "interesting" maneuvers is only looking for the worst possible efficiency ever...

  • hauptsache ohne helm

  • @olumppara ICH HASSE DIESE KOMMENTARE

  • nice rotation speed

  • Hey , that`s so cool ! Congratulation !!! What trust do you get with those mini jets ? Also, how much fuel do they consume ? Wait for more videos from U !

  • @airsoldier2001

Sure would be nice if the poster's where here to give information once in a while!
