i catch em all the time jy042199 they school on greenies not to far from the beach topwater and suspending baits work if they are on fire but when they chill suspend a lil blue runner.. hope this helps.. nice catches capt.

geez this guy nails all the gamefish here in swfl, everything from snook to bullsharks, great versatility. here he's getting some nice grouper and kings in the same place..if i had a boat i'd probably try the area around where they dumped the old edison bridge, that artificial reef probably has a lot of different species of big fish, only problem is keeping them from breaking you off on the structure down there.

At 15:34 that's the sound of the kingfish taking more line, right? I caught some for the first time a couple weeks ago, and they were taking all the line they wanted (even after we fixed the drag). Before adjusting the drag, they were a nightmare to reel in. One of the deckhands caught one the length of my fucking leg and I'm 6'0"

If you want to catch some decent size fish,, come to OZ thats a small to average Cod youve got there,, your mackarel didnt even look like they were legal, over here they have to be over 120cm, thats nearly 4 feet! to you yanks.. Fish are bigger here in oz,,, catching guppies with heavy gear,,what a wimp lol

yes it certainly does. I lost a huge tarpon the other day...probably 100 lbs. It was one of those scavenger ones that roll through the Tamiami Canal system every now and then...I had two 18 wheelers pull over to watch me battle the fish and about 2 minutes in he throws my hook.

You know, it's ABOUT TIME that they let Florida anglers harvest JEWFISH! The law has been in effect since 1990, and since then these fish have not only come back strong, but they are actually a NUISANCE for the fishermen who target other smaller species in the Gulf such as true red snapper, gag grouper, permit, etc... you can't even get them to the boat before they get swallowed. I'd say one per day per boat (with a slot size limit - certain months). Also, JEWFISH are DELICIOUS! Enough already!

The fact that they legally changed the name because the people of the Jewish faith ASSUMED the fish was orig named due to anti-semitic reasons is TOTALLY RIDICULOUS!!!!!! Capt great show.Got hooked on it a couple weeks ago looking for vids about fishin' in that area. Heading down from Orlando this Friday morning to Captiva w dad. We've got the boat, the tackle, the chum, and most importantly, the passion! Just a couple questions.the last bait you threw out was a ladyfish; were you using those for each fish you caught on this episode? Also, whereabouts in relation to Redfish Pass, Boca Grande, etc, were you out there? How deep H20? Freelining the ladyfish? Thx!

We used the lady's to catch Goliaths. We used threds to catch Kingfish. We were about half way down between Redfish and Sanibel in about 30 feet of water. Have fun and remember tell them to Chew On This when they start biting.
