Aw, this is cute! I went to China in 2007, and I got Jingjing (the cute panda). It's in my room with the Vancouver 2010 mascots ^^

I went in 2008 to visit my relatives and all I got to see was a olympic baseball game. Since I have no clue about baseball, the only thing I got that was memorable was a sunburn. LOLz I got a pack of all of the mascots, and then I got the exact same thing again as a present the next day xD

just wondering.. their cute.. but, who exactly are these things supposed to appeal to? trying to be neutral here, im an anime fan, so im into the whole 'chibi mascott' thing, but, this just seems a bit like, making a anthromorphic football name, "ballIchan" and using it to promote NFL games in the states.. then again, this is coming from a californian, so i am probably missing the cultural impact standpoint factor.

I don't know how many of you know this, but the names of the mascost can combined to say "Beijing Huan ying Ni" which means "Beijing welcomes you" in chinese. Cool, huh?
