My question is if this were her first time hearing, how does she know how to talk or pronounce words. More importantly how does she know what a word means as a sound rather than a sight (sign)?

@BryanDurio I am elated as well for this woman. But medical science is not a extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs, or a suspension of the natural order. Unless you have decided to give miracle your own definition. There was no miracle that people worked hard and long to produce this technology.

@jedah76 It doesn't take away from the awe, either. But, "miracle" is a word that everyone grew accustomed to, over the centuries. However, by pointing out simply that there aren't such things as "miracles", but rather advancement in technology, medicine, or coincidences that people may believe to be miracles/signs, it doesn't diminish their effect. Not for the person experiencing it first hand, and not to those who look on, no matter their worldview. But, yeah..god, eat your heart out! ;)
