The mistake people often make is thinking you do the rolls just for learning them, but they mostly want you to get unstable and than stable again, it doesn't really matter if you'd complete a roll perfectly, but it would be great.
Nowadays you don't have to do any static line. You can start your jumping from 14,000 feet w/ 60 second freefalls. You'll be doing tricks like this by like jump #7. Look up a local drop zone with an AFF program.
you start to do stuff like that after your first couple of high freefalls... 1-3 jumps is usuallly static line, 4-8 is 2-3 sec freefall and so on. Cool video tho, I miss it alot!!! need to get back up there again :)
@rappforever1990 Your first few jumps are static line jumps then you'll do some PRCP jumps, clear and pulls then two 5 second free falls, two 10 second free falls, two 20 second freefalls and then 30 second freefalls. after that you'll learn to track and other maneuvers. its very fun =]
"The feeling of ecstasy, the feeling of enlightenment, the feeling of going to that next level, the next step that we hear about in religion. I can compare it and i can start to understand it because of the feeling I have when I jump".
Tracking is a very important thing to learn in skydiving. If you jump with others it gives you horizontal separation before you open your canopy. Usually you would all "waveoff" at 4000 ft or so and then track in different directions few a few seconds before opening. If anybody has off-heading openings then you have little chance at collision. Of course it can be fun as well - tracking races etc
You dont minimize you horizontal velocity, you just maximize your vertical. Your fall rate does not change if one does from an arch to a tracking position.
it actually does slow you down, thats why generally your freefall times will increase on a track dive. you have to transfer some of that vertical movement into horizontal.
that causes a forward "flying". In fact you get much faster and the angle of falling chances from e.g. 90° to maybe 80° or something (i have no idea of the correct angles. its just an example). It feels like you are flying forward, on top of an "air cushion"

Tracking just gives you the chance to move forward... so you can move towards or away from people....

tracking is a position in skydiving, allows you to minimize your vertical velocity and maximizes your horizontal.
I'm a skydiving student, google it if you want to know more

its what he does at the end of the clip.
he takes his arms to his body.
