The best thing you can do to help Ron Paul is join the Republican party so you can vote in their primaries. Anyone who likes what they see here should go to their site and do just that. It takes no more than 2 minutes.
The Constitutional Republic that we currently live in is based on the notion of property ownership and the rights of the owner to enforce his rights to own and retain property. Our unalienable Rights are also owned (possessed) by each and every American citizen. Marxist economics (in the form of Socialism) dictates that we deny our right to "individual" Liberty and ownership, and transfer that control to the all-powerful State (Statism).
Since Socialism denies us individual Liberty and Rights, then it is incompatible with THIS Constitutional Republic as it was designed and implemented by the Founders. Therefore, I believe they are mutually exclusive.

Are you a Dem? I ask because I normally lean the Dem direction in Presidential elections (I'm an Independent that votes across Party lines all the time). In Dr. Paul's case, I've made an exception. I've been following Congressman Paul's career in Congress very closely since he blew the whistle on the USA Patriot Act back in 2001 and was the only Republican (out of 435) to vote against it.
He's an exceeptional choice for President and I urge you to look much closer at his background to find out why so many people are so passionate about this particular candidate. He never had to sell me at all, rather, I slowly sold myself as I watched and learned just who this quite amazing man is over the last six years.
Oh and despite my socilaist leanings, I actually vote on character more then policy and there is one republican I would vote for if he were put forward. John McCain in 2008!

As far as your comparison between Ron Paul and John McCain on character, John's character isn't bad, but I believe Ron's to be of demonstrably higher quality. They've been in the Congress approximately the same length of time. Dr. Paul has been extraordinarily consistent in his honesty, integrity, ethics, rationality, political philosophy, and actions, whereas John McCain is not nearly so consistent when contrasted. But that's just my humble opinion (having been a former Arizonan).

They HAVEN'T withdrawn any troops yet, it's just a promise to withdraw 1,600.

Are you a Dem? I ask because I normally lean the Dem direction in Presidential elections (I'm an Independent that votes across Party lines all the time). In Dr. Paul's case, I've made an exception. I've been following Congressman Paul's career in Congress very closely since he blew the whistle on the USA Patriot Act back in 2001 and was the only Republican (out of 435) to vote against it.

Actually I'm a hard core socialist. A dying breed but were still out there and I find both the democrats and republicans as self-rightious and selfish. I also know that the chances of a socialist candidate winning are about one billion to one, so instead I go with what I consider the lesser of two evils.

As far as your comparison between Ron Paul and John McCain on character, John's character isn't bad, but I believe Ron's to be of demonstrably higher quality. They've been in the Congress approximately the same length of time. Dr. Paul has been extraordinarily consistent in his honesty, integrity, ethics, rationality, political philosophy, and actions, whereas John McCain is not nearly so consistent when contrasted. But that's just my humble opinion (having been a former Arizonan).

kyeot, Ron Paul is a member of the House of Representatives, he can't filibuster anything because there is no such thing in that house of the legislature. As commander-in-chief, all Ron Paul has to do is order the troops home and it's done, period. And he will do it, he is the only one on record as voting against the war and running for office.
