You DO know that wrestling is a put-on right? It's a known fact that many of the matches are no longer on the up-and-up, and this has been true since the mid-80s.
Bruno Sammartino was trying to win the match. Hulk Hogan was working off a script. Killer Kowalski? Trying to win. Sean Micheals? Pre-planned. Once you saw Vince McMahon on tv, it was no longer a legitimate sport.
@MarshallSnare That's actually right on the money. Onita wrestled in Memphis where he saw the Southern brawling style and how well it got over. He went to Japan and eventually opened up FMW and amped it up to an entirely new level. Paul Heyman begins booking ECW in 1993 and liberally borrows from Onita (who was inspired by Memphis.) So, by and large, Memphis did create ECW (and helped resuscitate the WWF in 1997 since they took their best stuff from ECW.)
Maybe Hogan should show the Jarrett poster on TNA......ROTFLOL

Yeah, the CWA was a good league, there is no question. That and MidSouth tended to be tough guy areas.

It was in 1980s dollars. $12.95 would've been $19.95 and it would be a 2 hour DVD with an 2nd disc for extras.
