There is an old ultralight backpack at the bottom of the tub if for any reason I needed to hump that gear. It's mostly first aid, rarely used small items and get home items dedicated to that kit. In the winter there is a similar one with extra clothing in it. There are a few snacks in there as well.
You might want to add a small plastic garden shovel to your kit. If you have TP in there, why not add this useful accessory in case you get stuck in the woods or in a rural area.

Wud b interested in ur review of product. 2. Minor point. I think a roll of duct tape is moe useful than ur elec tape, u can do anything w/duct tape, I'm never w/o it - of course u could carry both. I have 2 suggestions thet u may want 2 look into: 1. My car BOB is just a cardboard box in the trunk but I always have a Glock entrenching tool. Due 2 ur interest in Glock, u may want to go 2 a Glock website and have a look. It is a regular GI shovel w/the exception that in the Glock tradition, all non blade parts are composite polymer. It folds down 2 the size of the blade and fits in a cordura pouch that can b carried on ur belt. A surprize in the handle is a small limb/root saw. 2b con't.
Oh and I forgot, for your BOB, you should have some primitive fishing equipment or some ways to catch some kind of food. I've used paracord to make snares before.
1. If you want to get more rigid bags, look up bags with the National Stock Number (NSN): NSN # 8105-00-334-4120. They're thick as hell, and for 10 bucks you can get 100. VERY durable. Fairly cheap.
2. What kind of back up lighter is that that you keep in your "tool bag"? Just thought it was neat.
all you need is a peanut lighter and swiss firesteel for backup. all the flint and steel, and that silver thing just take too much time to light a fire with them - cool, but not practical.
the map is great but you need also a compas and navigation skills to really use maps to get yourself out of trouble (you need road map and topografic map, nothing else).
for a useful first aid kit you need also a steril razor and silicon artery blocker. sorry for the lame english

For my needs a transparent plastic tub with a lid does the trick. Everything is easily accessible.
There is an old ultralight backpack at the bottom of the tub if for any reason I needed to hump that gear. It's mostly first aid, rarely used small items and get home items dedicated to that kit.
