In my opinion, DMD is one of their best albums ever, surpassed only by Epicus Doomicus Metallicus and Tales of Creation. The rest are also good, but these three stand out. You might also want to check out Leif Edling's solo album Songs of Torment, Songs of Joy, and Krux's albums simply entitled Krux and Krux II. A bit more spaced out, but still heavy as can be.

i wish them well too. i still like the best johan lanquist, because of his original style but most importantly his soul. he has ability and unbeliavable soul. when i heard epicus the first time it blew my mind and theres nothing that compares to it. then later messiah really impressed me but for different reasons, messiah is technically great and he has natural doom ability, new singer seems has good ability too. i also love the singer from chapter 7

i wouldnt go as far as to say this is as good as the old stuff. its great though. they went on the right direction. the reason this vocalist will NEVER touch messiah is messiahs deep tremolo voice which is almost operatic. theres no one in rock music that can touch messiah vocally, and his style for doom is perfect. this new vocalist is too new school he sounds like my dying bride who were imitators of candlemass. this album is still good though, very good

i igree with bobilla about messiah..he has something operatic in his voice..something deep..BUT LOWE IS ONE PF THE BEST SINGERS EVER..GREAT VOICE TOO..AND DONT FORGET..FRONTMAN OF SOLITUDE AETURNUS..maybe the second best doom metal band..for some the best..for me the second..little lower from candlemass.. :-)

Sorry to say it, but Candlemass needs the old singer, yah yah, he was a problemmaker, but the band is so sos so so boring now!

I still enjoying Candlemass, but I go for the older songs, but the guitarrist is still there with his fucking great solos, so for me I just pick the guitarsolos out and put them together and make one song, I think that is the only way for me to enjoy the two latest albums.
