I would like to thank you for creating these sounds that have touched deep into my soul and beyond. You have gave me inspiration to create not only music but to also, express myself in ways words couldn't do justice. thank you once again, one of your millions of fans!!
An amazing story, Frampton's solo albums were really going nowhere until "Frampton Comes alive" was released in 1976, and it just TOOK OFF! I remember being so stunned how fast he became a global superstar almost overnight!
What a great time in history to be growing up...the seventies...particularly when Frampton Comes Alive was peaking....I don't want to wax nostalgic too much.....but if you're from, say 51 to 61 years old, you'll know exactly what I mean.....talk about full-tilt-boogie??? the party NEVER STOPPED....and.all sex=no worry (AIDS)...people treated each other differently////great drugs!!! real acid and cheap pot....always remember:"If you can't be with the one you love honey...love the one you're with"

@ezbaseball97 No. What happened was he loaned it to Tommy from Eight is Enough and Tommy lost it in a canoeing accident that landed it in The Land of the Lost.
Words cant describe what we just saw. You could say great guitar, you could say an awesome show, you could say amazing song, but it doesnt really sum up the experiance. If I get the chance I'd go see Frampton now and hopefully I'd feel like he does.
Great simple song,as a great vehicle for Soloing'ing in Dm[the saddest key-Spinal Tap-remember?] I loved this when I was 11[when FCA came out] and I still appreciate it for what it is today.Again THIS has NEVER been shown on Australian Television[what a surprise.....NOT]So so much Live Rock the rest of the world got to see on TV was NEVER shown in Australia! Oh yeah we got the same WORN OUT scratchy copy[I kid U not!] of "Song Remains The Same"[which I love]but, that was it,and it was worn out!
Reminds me of smokin' everything possible, ..tea,. thought it was elephant pot when I was 13. Got wise and went to the park and scored nickel bags of 4 percent mexican. Older and wiser now.
I thought I was real rock and roll when I heard this for the first time...I think I was 12 lol...this is true rock of the ages...God bless you Peter :)
The range of notes he goes through and the clarity of his guitar play on this track is amazing.Just as good and better than most of the so- called great guitarists.
Frampton just recently reunited with this very guitar [a 1954 Les Paul custom]...after 30 plus years and an airplane accident that killed a few persons..."must have been a dream...c'mon...lets do it again!"
Thanks for this full high-quality version! This does show what an amazingly talented musician he was. The range of skills shown in this one number is stunning. It's easy to miss the fact that Frampton's decent into alchoholism for many years took him out of the game just when his image would have matured like Clapton's did. It ruined him during what would have been his most productive years, not to mention causing his loving gf Penny to leave him. Very glad he is back in circulation again.
He has said that he resents the rolling stone picture of him without a shirt because it turned him into a teen idol and took away his credibility. That`s probably why nobody really remembers him as a great guitarist.
@flyingmerkel6 You are right on the money. Frampton was considered "chick rock" back in the 70s. It was Page Clapton Beck all the way for REAL guitarists.. The problem for Frampton was he was way too good looking and too much of a complete "package" for the marketing department to resist. Girls would take Frampton Comes Alive and open up the album and tack it to their walls like a poster. Truth is, he shouldn't be descriminated against because of genetics. He didn't ask to be born adorable.
"He has said that he resents the rolling stone picture of him without a shirt because it turned him into a teen idol and took away his credibility. That`s probably why nobody really remembers him as a great guitarist."
And this is completely right. Petr Frampton is a master guitarist, but simply because of that picture, he was then a teen idol. And teen idols are forgotten and underrated in time.Poor Frampton... Jimi Hendrix got nothing on Frampton!
Why Peter Frampton is almost never mentioned in the same breath as Eric Clapton,Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck,Jimi Hendrix,Stevie Ray Vaughn,...etc etc.......God only knows..Instead of being influenced by the blues players of the past..he incorporated more jazz licks (ala Wes Montogomery) into monster rock solos! Music today desperately needs more Peter Framptons. For the sake of our young musicians/guitarists who need to know the truth about real guitar heros
That guitar he's playing was lost in a 1980 plane crash in the Caribbean. Someone found it and the Curacao tourism representative gave it back to Peter. Awesome story!
who ever says pf isn't up there with the rest of the great guitarist is out of their f&^%#@! minds and this song gets me so hyped up it isn't funny i guess you had to grow up in that era to appreciate good rock and roll love, peace and flowers
Nice to know that Peter's long lost '54 LP Custom has been found...the guitar he's playing here didn;t die in that Venezuelan planecrash after all. It's beat up a bit, and a little charred around the nut, but still intact.....can't wait to see him bring that thing back on the road(he's already stated that this guitar is going back into use as his No. #1).
Nothing harder to watch than someone using a talk box! Sounds cool but they should go step behind a curtain when doing it then re-apear when thier done.
If it wasnt 2:00 in the morning, i would be blasting this and dancing. How can anyone stay still while watching Frampton??? you dont even need to hear the music just watching him makes me move. Love it.
The days of Rock and Roll are weighning to an end with fewer and fewer musicians learning their craft and being innovative like the guys of this era. the computers are making it all too easy and nobody is spending hours and hours plucking out their scales on an old six- string box with heavy- guaged strings to toughen up their finger tips until they bleed. People, we have spoiled our children. REGRET!!!
They must have passed out hits of acid to the audience as they are totally mesmerized by this awesome performance….it’s like watching a cobra being subdued by a flute!!!!
You know Bill Wyman wanted this guy to replace Brian Jones, not Mick Taylor. He was deemed to be too young, but there was a reason why Wyman wanted him. This is the reason.
God I miss these shows like In Concert, Midnight Special, and Kirshners Rock Concerts. It was absolutely great being able to stay up late on weekends, watching Frampton, KISS, ACDC, Montrose, Grand Funk and others play.
They must have passed out hits of acid to the audience as they are totally mesmerized by this awesome performance….it’s like watching a cobra being subdued by a flute!!!!
The split screen with Bob Mayb(RIP) is awesome. Love when Mayo flies down the keyboard at the 3:24 mark.."champagne for breakfast!!. Also love the drum fill at 8:37 before the final solo. What a spectacular performance!! BRAVO!!
The long guitar solo is epic... I like to picture bringing out an inflatable pig after the first "Do you feel like I do" in the epic solo after 4:55. Rock on, Frampton!
@guitarttimman LMAO my friend, you're not the only one waiting on a reasonably priced time machine. I can think of plenty of placed I could be, feeling like they do!!!
funny to see people get so wound up, disrespectful, hateful, and ripping each other apart verbally...all over some videos with music or whatever else is on this website....what a wonderful loving community we live in !! no wonder there's so much violence out there when we leave our homes *** look what we say to each other when we are IN our homes talking to others !!
say what you will,,but in 1975 the world just hadnt seen much in the way guitarist of this caliber,,not many today can just do "off the cuff" improvisation,,,,and best of all,, he's still rockin out to this day,,go catch one of his shows,,you wont be dissapointed like you will with modern groups that cant pull off their own stuff live without help from a stack off sound engineering equipment......keep rapeing that fretboard "mr. peter frampton!!!!!!!!!!
The album made rock history and you people argue about the merits of other guitarists. Give credit where credit is due. For crying out loud. This man ROCKED. All without autotune and 25 leotard wearing dancers.
They are are made by Heil -Talk-Boxes are -also used with the Leslie Cabinets-[Like on SWEET EMOTION] By Aerosmith-where they put a giant Leslie cabinet under the stage-before the shows-Peter sings through his guitar pick-ups this way
Mr. Frampton,

It actually doesn't take that much skill to use it... If you play guitar you can play with a talk box.

funny to see people get so wound up, disrespectful, hateful, and ripping each other apart verbally...all over some videos with music or whatever else is on this website....what a wonderful loving community we live in !! no wonder there's so much violence out there when we leave our homes *** look what we say to each other when we are IN our homes talking to others !!

say what you will,,but in 1975 the world just hadnt seen much in the way guitarist of this caliber,,not many today can just do "off the cuff" improvisation,,,,and best of all,, he's still rockin out to this day,,go catch one of his shows,,you wont be dissapointed like you will with modern groups that cant pull off their own stuff live without help from a stack off sound engineering equipment......keep rapeing that fretboard "mr. peter frampton!!!!!!!!!!
