All the private property was taken in the name of the Revolution, even the smallest ones like the boxes to clean shoes. The embargo is just something they've been using all the time to cover the failure of their stupid revolution.

i saw the cuban people not full of fear like in the german democratic republic or in the Hitler Fashismus. Sure, they have to take care not to fall back in a system before the revolution. The video made me feel nostalgic and a bit heartbroken to see images of my country. However, the images of Che Guevara and of the other communist propaganda made me extremely angry because communism has nothing to do with Cuba. I wish people could understand that. Cuba was an amazing country on it's own without and before the communist revolution.

All the private property was taken in the name of the Revolution, even the smallest ones like the boxes to clean shoes. @Brisi3 I am British, I was born in East London and I have been a socialist since I was 16.I have respect for Socialist Cuba, they are so proud of their identity that even if the regime changed I think they would still cherish the revolution and will not reject it.From the conversations I had with cubans there seems to be a thirst for change but they are all too aware of what is happening in Russia and they dont want to go down that road rather they want to be like China.But I only spoke to 4 .

@Brisi3 My friend, I used to be a soldier and i served in bosnia twice after the fall of communism.I saw what happens when capitalism moves in. I hear what your saying but when i visited Cuba i saw people with manners and humanity.I saw workmates shaking eachothers hands every morning.Comunism may not work because it requires the world to practice it for it to work.but socialism is about compassion and your country has a lot of it.Britain is far from perfect we have cctv cameras everywhere.

No country have ever been into Communism and Engels wrote it for Germany not for Rusia or Cuba and the transition (as he wrote) should come by itself after capitalism.

You need to look at Cuba as an island in the carribean or Latin America,and compare yourselves to the other ilands like haiti and Jamaica or mexico (i have been to Tijuana)..And ask yourselves why those nations who have capitualted to US demands are doing far worse than you could have imagined. if the blockade was lifted I wonder how cuba's full potential would be realised

Mexico has another problem that has nothing to do with Cuba, Jamaica was a British Colony O(different culture) and Haiti was a colony from France, I don't see your point here. Also there are not native indian descendents in Cuba. The Spaniards killed them all.

Frederick Engels wrote the Scientific Communism, not Karl Marx. I see Cuba as what it is an island with 11.4 million of cuban without hope. Mexico, Haiti or Jamaica have their own problems that nothing have to do with the Cuban situation. That beautiful perfect revolution should be able to make it without the American Empire that is so bad.
And please don't blame the United States for the Banana Republics of Latin America if those goverments wants to steel from their people.

Cuba is poor! yes,I have seen the ration books it terrible but you cant be an "Embargo Denier" it is the reason why Cuba is the way it is. @cooks1234 For me Socialism is not something you just wake up to be, you cant just read a book and say your a Socialist, You learn to be a Socialist.Communism can only be embraced by the world , it is an ideal that can only be achieved through Democratic Socialism.We are 100's of years away from this but when Universal healthcare is seen as good thing in country's like the USA then it can be seen as a step forward.

The video made me feel nostalgic and a bit heartbroken to see images of my country. However, the images of Che Guevara and of the other communist propaganda made me extremely angry because communism has nothing to do with Cuba. I wish people could understand that. Cuba was an amazing country on it's own without and before the communist revolution.
