  • Blackice I have a pair and u are completely wrong

  • kids headphones not for adults

  • i bet they suck.they look cheap.

  • is it a microphone that i can talk through

  • @aptrotta yeupp

  • @PileDownReviews they're still in excellent shape. I take really good care of my stuff though. I always put these back in their leather pouch when I'm done using them.

  • how have these headphones held up after 8 months?

  • well ive had these for about 5 months now and sound only comes out of the left side

  • I disagree in that I think these sound much better than the beats in my opinion. I tried both on at the apple store and walked out with these instead. The beats have a bloated bass response that overpowers all other spectrums. Again if you love hip-hop only or love bass at the cost of the mids and highs, then get the beats. The beats sound muddy compared to the aviators.

  • great review, good stuff ive been contemplating between aviators and sk pro's, nd u just convinced me.

  • Nice review sir

  • white stripes :D

  • Awesome! Nice to see you using Zune! xD I love Zune. Way better than that other fruity stuff.

  • This review was great and very helpful to me,,,but then at the end you kinda killed it with the whole cd thing you lost me...

  • hey im thinking about buying these but im worried about sound leak...is it really loud to others when the volume is high?

  • Great review! You mentioned that you compared them to BOSE tri-port. Other than saying that they are "similar", how do they compare (ie. highs, mids, lows). I am considering either the BOSE ae2 or the Aviators and you seem to know what you're talking about... so what do you think? Thanks!

  • Just received mine today. I love them. At first I listened to them on my 2nd gen ipod nano and they weren't that loud, but when I tried them on my blackberry and macbook thats when these badboys came to life! The sound is very crisp and detailed. No distortion in the bass either. Plus you can't go wrong with the lifetime warranty from Skullcandy either. I recommend anyone to get these.

  • Thanks so much for this video! How did you upload a 12 minute video?

I already have $100 Nixon Nomadic headphones, not sure if you are familiar with them or if you have them, but if you do, do you know how they compare?

  • @FutureInventions Unfortunately, I've never had the pleasure of trying out any headphones from the Nixon brand. I do really want the pair they're selling over at Third Man Records though.

  • @ImaginedWhimsy Thanks! Would you recommend these? I'm looking for good, not too expensive, comfortable over ear headphones.

  • @FutureInventions Oh, and I'm new to uploading videos to YouTube, but on the upload page it says the time limit for videos you can upload is fifteen minutes. Maybe that's a recent change?

  • @2:45 lol a cricket?

  • @ijustin98 Yes, lol. I have a pet tarantula and I just fed her crickets before I shot the video. Not a great idea in retrospect. :-)

  • can you tell me which one is better, the aviator or the mix master ?

  • where can i get these online

  • Comment removed

  • okay so i listen to mostly rock and hip hop and i like a lot of base in rap but im worried when i listen to rock the skull crushers will distort it would these be better

  • @ktm125sx198 I have the Skullcrushers, and I just tell you they are great for all kinds of Music. It has a subwoofer that can be turned off maually. I love to listen Eminem with very powerful bass (They shake when put on full power), using a subwoofer. I then turn off the Bass when I wanna listen to Rock. The sound is just amazing, almost crystal clear.

The only thing I dont like about the Skullcrushers is that they are made of fairly cheap plastic, so try to be careful with them.

  • @ktm125sx198 Well I can tell you that there isn't any distortion in the Aviators. I've turned them up as loud as they can go (not while they were over my ears, of course) and no distortion occurred. The Skullcrushers are less than half the price of the Aviators, so I think it's safe to say that Aviators are a better headphone. :)

  • @ktm125sx198 The skullcrushers are specificly designed for rap and hip hop. they have very powerful bass with not much else. the g i is the best choice when going with skull candy because they have very nice mids and highs. trust me i listen to metal so i definetly have experience ;) and the aviators are like the pimp daddy to the g i... way better looking. better material. and better quality! i traded in my g is for a pair of white aviators and boy am i happy!!!!!!

  • @ktm125sx198 these are horrible =( i tried a brand new pair at the ipod store and they have no bass what so ever

  • is the cable durable and is it detachable? would it not get worn out or ripped over time? cuz the beats cable looks very durable in comparison and since they are detachable if something happens to the cable you can replace it.

  • @3WadeD3 No, the cable is not detachable.

  • @3WadeD3 If it is broken, you can send it in and they will replace it. Or if you have a soldering iron... XD

  • thanks for all the info

  • do these fit completely over your ear? or do they just sit on the ear

  • @rockstar1021 They fit just over my ears. And they are pretty comfortable.

  • Could you please let me know if you were able to make calls on Skype with your laptop... I was hoping to purchase this headset to use it for music and use it for gaming purposes. I need a headset that has a Mic which I can use on VOIP programs like ventrilo.

  • @spartan5151 It doesn't seem to work for my windows machine as far as making Skype calls. I tried it on a MacBook Pro and it worked fine. There might be drivers for it, but I haven't been able to find them.

  • Yeah Thanks soo much i think im going to get mine at apple

  • Okay help me out here, i want these but im worried on sound mostly, can you explain what the sound is like when listing? does it block out the outside world, is it clear, is the bass good? etc. please help me out

  • @ShadowStepCr3w Well, as I mentioned in the overview, it does a good job of blocking out external noise, however, it's not technically "noise cancelling". Sound is crystal clear and the bass level is just right. Some headphones will have a deeper, more powerful bass, but they tend to crank the lows so high that it drowns out or over-powers the mids and highs. I like the bass level on these a lot. Can't go wrong at this price point. :)

  • @ShadowStepCr3w i have them and it has no sound leakage. It blocks everything on the outside and isolates all the sound perfectly. The sound is absolutely out of this world. The base is perfect, its not overwelming like the beats. they are my favorite over ear headfones.

  • are these over ears ?

  • roc nation aviators vs sk pros? =] im lookin at both

  • @iVilliain Aviators no doubt. Trust me I have both but I don't use the SK Pros anymore. The Aviators have much better audio quality, they're more comfortable, and in my opinion they look much better. The SK Pros are very large and there will be large gaps between your head and the outer rim of the headphones at the corners, unlike the Aviators which hug your entire head.

  • Is the sound quality comparable to earbuds ?

  • @kingradin No.

  • @ImaginedWhimsy So you think I shouldn't buy any over ear headphone because you can't compare them with ear buds ?

I want unique design, and good sound quality, but over ear... so what can I get ?

  • @kingradin I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean. Generally, earbuds do not sound as good as over ear phones do. Some earbuds, however, do sound better. Although those would be in the $400 to $600 range. Just pick a budget, do some research, and then choose what fits your style. :-)

  • The cable isn't removable like Beats?

  • @cisiusVaz No. It's attached.

  • @imaginedwhimsy thx man for your reply and are you going to do more unboxing vids or not because i'm thinking of subscribing.

    Thx again

  • @imaginedwhimsy what do you think is generally better the skullcandy aviators or the beats by dre cause i want to buy one of them thx

  • @thekillers005 The Beats are just slightly better than the Skullcandy. However, they are overpriced and they have the bass level too high in my opinion. If you can afford it, go for it. :-)

  • @thekillers005 I had beats SOLO ! it sucks ! it was OK for dance style, but they were not for rock/dance music. I want to buy these now instead.

  • Should i get it in black or white?

  • @drzjunior125 I don't think it makes much of a difference, dude. I guess you'll have to clean the white ones more often. Haha.

  • Thanks for posting this video! I've been having a hard time finding legit reviews (as most "reviews" for the Aviators that I've been finding were just Skullcandy's press release copied + pasted into random blogs). It's a little easier to trust your review since you seem to really care about audio quality (noting that you're big on lossless, etc).

Question: In your opinion, are these comfortable enough to wear through an entire DVD or LP?

  • @minceyfresh Thanks for watching! Yes, these are pretty comfy. The longest I've worn them so far is 5 hours. I've watched DVD's and listened to whole albums with little trouble. : )

  • How do I convert my library to flac on iTunes? I didn't get Ll my songs from iTunes.

  • @bklynkiddddd Unfortunately, iTunes does not support FLAC. If you want to play a FLAC file, you're better off trying VLC Media Player or Foobar2000. Song Bird might support it, but I'm not sure. Keep in mind that FLAC files are huge (like 20MB per song as opposed to 7MB per song MP3) so if you don't have a lot of space on your harddrive, you're probably better off with 320kps MP3's.

iTunes supports lossless AAC, so if iTunes is the music player of your choice, you can stick with that.

  • Great review once again, you did better then most people who do this for a living on YouTube.

  • @bklynkiddddd Thanks! : )

  • So do you think I should convert my mp3's to flac or or keep them at mp3 but put the bitrate at 320 for the best quality

  • @melo15813 FLAC can't be up-converted. So if you have 320kps MP3's than you won't be able to convert them to FLAC. FLAC has to be converted from the original source (like a CD). When you compress a file into an MP3, you take little bits of the song out in order to make the file smaller. After that is done, those little bits can't be put back. The little sounds that are taken out are supposedly audio tones the human ear won't notice are missing. HQ MP3 = 320kps. FLAC = 1000kps to 3000kps.

  • @ImaginedWhimsy So I can I up convert to 320kb since my mp3's are at 128 now? I checked out some flac songs and they where like 25mb per song I would have to get way more space on my hard drive

  • @melo15813 No, sorry, dude. Once a file has been compressed into an MP3 it can only go down in quality. For example, if you start at 320kbps you can compress it further down to 256, 192 or 128kbps. It can only go down, not up. If you want to convert something to 320kbps than it has to be lossless or from the original CD. It has to start out higher quality than 320kb. And yeah, FLAC files are HUGE. Although there is nothing that sounds better in my opinion, there's really nothing wrong with 320kb
