  • Do you have any closer pics of the suicide shift? i wont to fab one up for my '81 gl500 rat bike

  • nice bike man. Good work.

  • Hey, sweet bike. I got a few questions for ya, how much did it cost you and where did you get the parts for the motor?

  • I got one i'm working on. started out as an 82 silverwing interstate. got 2 of them for $500 and I've just been chopping and hacking and rewiring for days now. check out my vid.

  • Hi. I have a couple of questions about Your first build with this bike. Would You email me at grooooved at yahoo.com, please? Or respond to the message I sent here on YouTube. I would really appreciate it, man!

  • I've got the ame headlight I think. Is it a modified offroad light? Did you install a hi/lo beam bulb in it?

  • @01ps , No, single filament.

  • Good job!!! I have a old 1981 silverwing gl500 with harly pipes, sounds good!!

  • Cool man!

Congratulations, real nice bike! I gonna make one!!

    Nice and clear..

    Cheers!!

  • thats sweet 750 would be better but what ever looks cool i was just wondering about inspection and insurance did ya just register it as a 1982 gl 500?

  • @toneyboy25 , Yes. No inspections here in Pine Knot, KY

  • how did you rig up the suicide shifter? i didnt think it could be done n this bike, i got my first bike begining of this winter its an 81 gl500 and id love to rig a suicide shift

  • @PoorUglyBastards4x4 , A rod runs through a tube under the motor from right to left. There is a 3" tab/lever arm on the end of the rod that changes the spinning motion into an up and down motion.

  • Nice job!

  • I sent more of this message and my contact info to Your youtube inbox. I have an early 80's silverwing GL500 and have been wanting to make a chopper out of it. I've browsed around on the net off and on for a couple years and found no examples, only to find yours today. Your first version looks like what I'd like to do and also seems easier than your second more chopped version.

If there is any way you could help me find out all it takes to do this?

  • sweet,i saw a basket one today ,all in pieces,i think if i can swing it i'll chop and bob her,i'llprobably go for a hard tail look though.

  • disturbingly cool! Is your shift lever side to side action -direct to the shaft, or did you Frankenstein it to go front to back? Seriously cool work!

  • the shifter works front to back

  • amzing super good job you very talent man

  • great jod dude!!! straight and pure !!! but the colors not my type dude,...

  • OH HELLS YES! ,, LCC's, forever! nice work!

  • dam thats scary man id never cut the sten rite off, least not enytime soon, my chop i jus cut it off from the middle of the downtubes n backbone n stretched

  • Good job on your bike FLG67. just gotta have faith man. After several hundred miles and going over a hundred miles an hour several times, it is still holding up.

  • this man has more talent than most good job chitwood

  • Original. Good Job!

  • It's Amazing How Our Interests Are So Damn Similar. Nice Chop.

  • Thanks, I love doing this stuff. My wife says she is a "garage widow" which means I need to spend some time away from the shop! LOL

  • super kickass, man

  • You know what. I think I found someone who keeps as many projects as I do. That chopper you built rocks. I haven't touched my bike. I'm still riding a sport bike. Wouldn't that be funny as shit. A sport bike kicked back with some ape hangers. I'll be honest. Thats not a project I want. That was pretty tough what you did with that.

  • You have done a really nice job on the GL.

  • Thanks!

  • I was lookin around on the net and saw that u did a modification of this bike the first time around before you made it into a chopper. I saw a picture and really liked it. Could you tell me more about that one?

  • That one was pretty simple.....Just set it near the ground, weld the swingarm solid.Put on a solo seat and a homemade back fender. Used a flat drag bar. It was very uncomfortable.

  • Dude that is awsome. No one chops out a honda silverwing, its really a one of a kind bike! Are you thinking about possibly doing another project?

  • thanks, right now I am working on my buggy(check out the vid), but if another cheap bike comes along......... who knows? Then again I have some changes planned for my shadow.

  • im chopping my cx500 man did you do all the welding on that small of welder???

if so thats awsome i have one the same size and i want to stretch the frame more

and need more resources when i do so

  • The welder is awesome. Sometimes I make more than one pass, but it is very capable. Look at my buggy build video, you won't believe what i do with this welder. research chopper charles and go to his website. Lots of info, great guys.

  • man this is really cool. i have a 81 honda silverwing myself. how long did it take you to build this? how did you get the frame?

  • Thanks Teemart007, It took about 3 months and I made the frame. Bent and welded it all myself.

  • Man That is a awesome video.

  • Actually the best thing about the video was the song.

  • so you did not think that transformation was awesome and video worthy? LOL!

  • Hey slickdick, Why dont you eat a big bowl of Shut the FAWK up.

  • BWAAAA! HAAAAAA! HAAAAAA!
