FOX News would be against a cure for Cancer if Obama came out publicly in favor of one. FOX News has become a joke! When it first came on the air it was obviously GOP friendly but still had a respectable feel about it. The news covered was actual news but from a GOP view...Now FOX is like watching Alex Jones or reading the tabloids.

The truly SAD part is millions think they are getting stories that other media does not cover when in reality they are just getting lied to! Used like TOOLS!

I know this is a bull shit story...(I love FOX) I almost agree that they would be against Obama even if he cured cancer... but you must be young you must not know that your not suppose to be For more GOV but against it... Yes. People always use the Vietnam relation. Vietnam was a totally different situation.

1. Vietnam war was fought without thermal or night vision

2. Vietnam was dense jungle which limited air power

3. Vietnam had the full backing of Russia

4. The soldier fighting in Vietnam were draftees who were just there to serve out a deployment and get home.

It is impossible to compare Vietnam with any modern war.The US Army of 1965 would be wrecked by the Taliban. Nothing replaces the will of volunteers

You also didn't say the amount of casualities. Vietnam 9 year there were over 50000 dead soldiers not counting the wounded. Afghanistan 9 year not even a thousand soldiers have been killed.

Vietnam and Afghaninstan or even the war on terror are two totally different conflicts.

At some points in the war the death toll was 500 a week. You're right. To say this is like veitnam is to minimize the suffering nam vets went through.

I actually had an old guy in my unit that also served in nam and Iraq. He laughs at the notion of comparing Iraq/afganistan to vietnam. Usyoung guys in the army have no idea what total war is.

Even with the few troops we have there, they can not mount an attack that would over run our base. They simply are counting on outlasting our will. Military victory is not on their mind

Ashamed? Being adisabled vet does not give you the right to distore or misrepresent history. Neither is it a silver bullet to win a debate. I don't have sympathy for you because of your injury. And if you are offended by this, than you are not rally a soldier. 39 years old. You could not have been drafted, therefore you chose to go just like everyone else. I will not let some bitter person who can not handle the consequense of signing that contract, use his experiance to distort the facts.

Hold on SkyDaddy. All want the Soldierboy is saying is that Viernam is different than Afghanistan and Iraq. How is that naive?

Listen since I guess we are all vets (to me it doesn't matter, it is his opinion and all) but I have had vietnam vet come to me saying he was proud of my service. I said, "no sir I am proud of Your service" (he told me that he no one EVER has siad that to him in his life).

Cuz Nam was hell alot worst than what is going on over in Afghanistan. Just what it is.

Assuming your injury was combat related, what bearing does that have on this debate. Afghanistan can not compare to Vietnam. Period. Don't dare you use disability as justification for distorting fact. Any novice debtor would say, "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize..."

I don't want to hear it. You chose the line of work. I'm not going to let you distort history out of fear of seeming insensitive. You piss on the honor of those who served in Vietnam by comparing low level combat to all out war.
