  • This video helped me out alot! Thx!!

  • best fish ever is perch! by far!!

  • I truly think that people who worry about the y bone are not fish eaters any way. You lose to much meat this way, Cooking the whole fish is the way to get the best taste anyway.. bones are bones, you just go around them while eating that great meat that you lose. But I quess it's nice to have boneless, just hate to waste that much meat,,, Good job, good catch

  • That was a small northern. Near the dam where I grew up, there are northern pike that grow to over 5' in length. Some would not fit in our tub. The heads would be down by the drain & the tails were sticking up & out of the other end. Some were as big around as a football. Dad use to catch them all the time like that, more than one every few days. I think northern pike is the best tasting fish. Grew up on them. The rivers is polluted now & the big fish all died. Thanks to DDT and PBB poisoning.

  • Spelled with a w pronouced with a v. Your wasting alot of meat cutting they out. just pull them out with a twezers.

  • @TheLOLReally Dad use to pull them out too before cutting them into steaks. I hardly ever found a bone, only on the smaller ones. The Y bones are easier to spot in the big northerns, just pull them out. The biggest pike I ever caught was 39 1/2".

  • i dont eat pike r they ny good i might cook 1 up some time if they r

  • @tristancooper1997 Oh yea they're amazing!

  • oh man i love fishing in Canada. When you go up there the locals hate the pike lol. If you do a beer batter or a bread crumb. they are just damn good

  • This is how I`ve done mine for the last 40 yrs. but I found a different way to do it with newspaper only minus head and guts.

  • To all the people saying this guy sucks and his technique sucks... Please shut the fuck up? No one cares if you think he sucks, hes just showing you how to fillet a pike, obviously with practice you get better at it. I dont see any of you jackass' posting videos of yourselves filleting a fish better than him, so until then, use your brain before you leave a retarded comment.

  • @greenjack7922 i'd have to totally agree with you but im sure this guy doesn't want people cussin' on his page sso yaaa just try to respect that

  • @greenjack7922 Amen brother,,, to many haters that cant even catch a minnow, so they hate on real fisherman

  • Can someone tell me why so many people waste the skin? Why not simply scale the fish? Skin is what gives it the lovely crunchy taste.

  • ive always wanted to but i almost always fry my fillets with batter.....how to u cook em with skin on???

  • not a very good technique

  • i love pike

  • he sucks

  • he sucks

  • what a mess

  • I don't usually skin my fish, just scale them and fry em skin on.

  • I also think white fish are good eating, but have too many bones.

  • white fish are the best, filleted correctly, i go to the mac straits (Michigan US) every summer and I have a great friend that brings me freshies right off the boat evey morning I am there..... accomos are great but i can only pan fry, what a wonderfull taste of nature that is..... yum yum yum.... steak and eggs??? how about white fish and eggs.... ok... gotta cook now

  • pike don't have scale..they have a soft outside

  • @koske1rm lol...pike have scales dude....that was a fail-ass comment, do some research before babbling false information.

  • @koske1rm check again friend they have mega scales.

  • thanks for the tips

you should look at cutco's knife's there like apparently the worlds sharpest knifes and we have them the fishing one is like a line cutter/sharpener/fishholder/fillet knife and works great

  • where wsa some skin left on there for some identity

  • they ate it in the spot =]

  • dont forget the other strip of bone on the bottom tail section its there, youll feel it with the knife or your fingers

  • nice video, much better than other videos... you must be from saskatchewan...

  • Want some fish with them lead paint chips? LOL. Man get a good cutting board!
