Technical skill, perfect timing, but above all, his music had soul, style and reflected a person who could touch the emotions of others others with his musicality and lovely personality.
@weatherboi I know........I was implying that when I listen to Liberace......all I hear is his piano work.....there is nothing else....and thats all I focus on....
@chapa6sigma That's good, whether you are focusing on the music or not, and to answer your question, there is back ground accompaniment (perhaps I should have put it that way). Lee was and is one of the greatest pianist of all time, I have always enjoyed his work!
@eroediv: I feel exactly the same way and have said the same exact thing that you wrote. I am so fortunate to have been alive during the same time that Liberace graced this planet with his unmatched and generous talent. I miss him terribly.
Wow what a genius!!!!! I love how he was able to put them together without sounding like a disaster. Lee,we still love you!!!!!! He was incredible,i love him
Amazing at that time 30 years ago to have a computer controlled fountain. I might add those rings costing a bout $250,000 a piece today would be worth several million.
I saw this when I was a small child..Its great to see it again! Just lovely! Thank you for showing this for all of us that still love this kind of music. it brings a little bit of heaven down to us in this messed up world.

Libarace is undoubtedly an extremely tallented pianist, but he's been matched. Sure for a time some musicians reach their peak and are better than everyone else, but only for a time.
There will never ever be another Liberace. These people only come along once in a life time ! He was alway happiest when he was playing for and audience and could get them eating out of the palm of his hand, yet deep down, he was a very lonely individual. His music was his life and his life was music for people to enjoy. Not to mention the millions he gave to charity through out his life
There still are some performance artist(people who combine music and visuals) in the world. Unfortually, people like this usually play in small venues as a novelity. My piano teacher actually played piano for band, using her nose, knees and such to play the piano as a novelty, not quite as grand as libarace is but nonetheless performance art. If you want to see people like libarace you have to look for them on the streets.
interesting how he is introduced as "The World's King, Johan Strauss". I LOVE this video, and wonder if this isn't where the idea for the fountains at the Bellagio were born.
Liberace was of a generation that can never be replaced. How many young people are trully taking the time to study and perform classical music today? Liberace combined his natural born gift of creating music with his knowledge of the piano lessons he was taught at the Juliard School of Music. Combined together created a showman that we were fortunate to have had the benefit of listening to the music he created. Rest in Peace, Lee - many of us will never forget you.
One of the worlds last great entertainers and showman of the 20th Century. My wife and I were privileged to see him perform in Melbourne Australia in 1984, a few years before his untimely death. A great gift to mankind gone forever. There will never be another showman like Liberace
he was a perfectionist clasic and total, he read and felt muisic in ways quantum math majors see therums, this man was articulated to the point he actualy did 64 beats to the bar, Aruba liberache, , what else can i say , bend over bethorvin and take a rock moniov
Liberace copied the Dancing Waters from the Bellagio Hotel! hahaha! Just kidding! Liberace was way ahead of his time -- this video is proof of that!

Thanks for sharing. I was not born until after his time. Now I understand why he was so famous. Also, I hear he was a truly kind person.

If anyone dares to say they have heard or seen a better pianist than Lee, they're lying and should be shot dead on the spot. OK Bye.

For those of us who can't make if to Vienna tonight. They waltzed from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am, can't you just see them? They would have adored Liberace!

I saw this piano in person. It's kinda hard to explain the details on it...OMG it's truly a work of art.

I've seen it, too. It is indeed a work of art. Seeing it in a clip doesn't magnify it's beauty.
