its good that he went out and fought. It made him understand Karate more. nothing wrong with that. its so you learn and when you coach you know what your talking about wehn you pass down the style.
Good interview with Billy, but correction to the one brother who said Jim Kelly, paved the way what about Ron Van Cleef aka(The black dragon). In my humble opinion as a martial scientist with over 40 years experience Billy Blanks, in his prime and Jim Kelly in his prime Blanks was better. Jim, had a lighting fast backhand and stepping sidekick. Billy had an unlimited arsenal and when you fought him you did not know what he was going to do. Peace
OI remember Billy, Jalal and Jeff Speakman. I liked their martial arts films! Have any of them done any films since the early '90s? Also, didn't Billy play a football player who shoots others and then, himself? I think it was "The Last Boy Scout". What's all this image on the screen so as to be a role model talk when he plays a character that does that in a movie?
It was a MOVIE. I just shot down about 50 fighters in Ace 5 Combat last night...UH OHHH!!! I guess that makes me a bad role model for my kid!(???) MOST can separate fact from fiction. Billy IS a good role model as he helps many separate 'FAT from good physical condition'. How much do you want from him???
Thanks so much, Billy is great, Back in Action and his partnership with Jalal Merhi in those films were brill. he should have played adam hunter in the streets of rage movie (I'm saying it like there was one).

That was arrogant when he said he was better than Jim Kelly, Jim paved the way. Jim was a great forerunner.

Man! He stepped on JK!! "I think I'm better than Jim Kelly!!!" But with his speed and power, I can't argue with that. . . .
