@classicalmusful there is a slight difference in the score of the oboe and flute, i dont know where since i dont have sheet music, but basically it is the same, but i guess mozart fancied this piece and wanted it to be played on the flute as well
James Galway is amazing... two years ago we saw him live at the opening night of the Hollywood Bowl... he played Oh Danny Boy, and it was incredible. It put flute playing in a whole new perspective for me. Before, I had only thought of someone as "good" when I heard them play something incredibly fast or difficult, but now I kow youcan do that with practice no matter who you are. But it would take someone as amazing as Galway to play with the emotion and beauty that he did.
Is it just me, or does anyone else feel him rush, and be a bit inconsistent with tempo in the first few measures he plays? Not to insult sir James Galway, he is a hero of mine, but I just want to make sure I'm not crazy!
@gili1484 Yes, I know this. But there is also a tempo in which he starts, and then a few other tempi on the side..
Not to say he is "wrong," because whether he is right or wrong, he is right, and the orchestra is going to follow him no matter what. But, my point is merely he isn't totally consistant. Not that could ever hold a candle to Sir James Galway. But NOBODY is perfect! (No matter how close!) lol
@kinokonoko123 oops! sorry my mistake! ^^' i'm new to the instrumental composers from back in the day ^^' i'm sure my flute teacher would scold me for the mistake Dx
ohh Galway.. just when you spend several hours on a piece and you think it's sounding good...

How to impress children:
1. Play 1:26
2. Success.
Did it myself and it worked a charm.

@JasonTongRulz Shoot, it still impresses me because I sound NOTHING like that when I play it.

Galway thinks Mozart is a pile of pancakes and needs syrup poured all over it.
Sadly, musical diabetes is a growing problem. Galway; the Zamfir of the flute.

@emquandra i think it just him adding emotions, its very hard to put emotions and stay still... but i got your point, your right :)

@emquandra also remember its baroque era music, so he has creative freedom. I'm sure he did that on purpose.
