@Mandolin1944 Thanks, I wrote it on the way home from picking up the mandocello in Missouri. I checked out your videos and you are an excellent player. I remember seeing your Epiphone mandocello conversion project on mandolin cafe a while back. Whoever did it did an amazing job! How did you do the tailpiece? It looks just like an original tailpiece off of a K5 'cello.
Amazing I have been wondering about the idea of a 27" scale on a mandocello (to match the cello) as contrasted to the Gibson 24.5" scale. Sure sound wonderful -- the C-strings sound good on the longer scale. But the inter-fret difference is significant between the two scale lengths. Comment?
