How bad is the hissing sound? Is it like just about audiable at high volume or is it a high constant hiss ? Wouldnt it be better to just get an extension cable and use wired headphones??
Not bad... for me... but YMMV. I know some people who can't stand ANY hissing at all. For them, the wireless option isn't really an option.
Personally I'm always in favor of having a wired connection for the stuff I use ALL THE TIME, but there are those situations in which a wireless connection is just more convenient.
Not sure weither to order the Sennheiser RS 120 or one of those blootooth in-ear-headphones which seem to be very practical (but I have no experience with any of these). I've read that there are always some problems with wireless headphones: noise during quiet parts. So not very good for classical music.
I got one two days ago and the interference is so terrible that it sounds like I am listening to dial up.
My cordless phones are in the 5.8 Ghz frequency range, and when I unplug my cordless phone and wireless router, I still get VERY noticeable disturbance.
Even when the docking station is completely off and unplugged, my headphones give out what sounds like loud dial up computer generated audio.
Maybe you can help? I can record what I get for you in a video if it helps.
Unfortunately this is part of the wireless factor. You really can't tell how ANY wireless technology will work in a particular environment until you've tried it.
Best way to check it to fire up the headphones in another location far away from the interference. (This about doing this at work or at a friend's house.) --- Unless of course you happen to have a Faraday cage in your place! :)
That's a common misperception (among Catholics and non-Catholics) that puts faith at odds with anything modern, scientific or technological.
What our faith call us to, and what Pope Benedict asked for at the last World Youth Day, is for us to be on guard against "materialism" -- replacing our desire for the divine with material objects.
In other words, we aren't called to give up material objects, we supposed to understand that those material objects are NOT the reason why we are alive.
nah dude, they only have to hate the material objects that threaten there god, like books and calculators. God can handle some puny headphones, but dont put him anywhere near a calculator!
HA HA HA HA the Vatican is the riches state on the planet
did you know that the rent money for the US white house is collected by the Vatican. no joke the Vatican owns the white house property and every month the president sends the check.
My grandparents has those Sennheiser headphones that are almost the same as the one your reviewing and they sound a little better than Bose headphones and their $30 cheaper.
you really do have very well made videos, this one was no different, keep up the good work, ill look into these headphones, my dad loves new tech toys
There's nothing that would make me happier than to share some of our gadget goodness with our loyal fans. Unfortunately there are three things that are currently preventing that.
1. Gear in the back hasn't been reviewed yet.
2. I have to return most of the gear when the review is finished.
3. The gear that they DO let me keep is actually on long-term load. The unspoken agreement is that I'll keep it around in case I need it for the show again.
I tried to use some of ultra sound things while transmitting on the Amateur Radio and almost blew my head off. They don't work well for that! Maybe I will try some of those.

I think its my neighbors cordless phones. If it turns out not to be, do you think the headphones just came defective?

So you have to plug your ipod into the base to listen to it? Do You bring around the base if you want to listen somewhere else?

Sweeb22,
These are NOT designed to be mobile headphones. These are a set of wireless headphones for a stationary installation.
