All I could understand from his recitation were the possessive pronoun endings of some words, "wa" for "and", and, of course "Allah". Insha'allah I will be able to understand it all one day! Arabic is such a beautiful language.

Hi - this version is pretty cool, but I have an earlier version of basit reciting this surah in his youth (very rare), but it is by far the most beautiful recitation I have heard in my life; I am working on uploading it (the copy I have is audio cassette) - I should have it done soon.

@nihigim Yes, i agree with Umar, Nihigim. it's more than beautiful when you understand the words of Quran. And Abdul Basit is my favorite quran's reciter in my life's journey! I like him very much. Quran wipes down my tear when recites beautifully.

Yes, I´am completly sure. This is Abdul Basit in his young age. He recited this surah in Masjid Al-hussain in the year 1968.
