Do you angle your pick like Shawn or do some circular picking and does the guitar affect your playing?.. Next is whats the best neck among your guitars....is it the Vigier Lane or the EBM Petrucci? how low is your guitars action? I hope I can play like this soon in a months practice....Thanks a lot!
@prettyboy7xxx thanks man...my picking technique is weird i don't really know, i think i got some circular technique, you know some economy of movement but that's it...the vigier shawn lane has a big fat neck with a super low action, the ernie ball has regular action but the neck feels better to me, very flat. if i had to choose i'd say the vigier because it plays like butter, but the ernie ball feels more like a real guitar for me better for gigs .
What i mean to say is that when you sit it is better for your posture to hang the guitar sideways it straightens your back and you will gain more picking control after a while.And you will also be better prepared for playing standing which is the best.Be aware when you go into Shawn Lane type of playing,beware!!!Good luck.
@84eugenie ah ok, i didn't really understand...yes the posture. i hang the guitar with my legs only on my videos, when i'm working i have a kind of confort chair in wich i'm lying down, and i hang the guitar between my legs.
when i do videos i put the guitar on my leg in order to let the camera capture my face and the guitar..

Heey friend ! guitar practicing without a neck strap can make you a lower back patient in the long run!

@84eugenie The neck strap is above the nut..it doesn't mute the strings here.
i use the strap when i do tapping ala Greg Howe.
