@youfacetubeorkut you see the date on this vid? do u know when dark souls was released. so easy to talk trash now that the game has been out for months lol. whateverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr dude.
you can tell that the creators copied the roar of the red dragon in demon souls on the bridge... if you play demon souls you know what im talking about. you can tell by the 'caw' of a crow you hear at the end of the roar. T.T
Well thanks for the basics on how to kill it, tried it myself, began getting hit a lot, half way through though, he did a flying attack where he shoots lighting down? he glitched through a wall somehow and about 20 seconds later i got 1000 souls, for some reasoon i prefer my method =D
First time I saw this guy, I just shot arrow after arrow at his head. Took like 2 minutes for me to kill him. I could've sworn that I got 1000 souls though, and here you got 500. Huh.
@UNdEaDHoRiZOnxX no,but you can score a critical on it,by attacking repetadly in the back,at the same spot and will do alot more damage, like my normal attack, with an uchi +5 did 45,but the critical did 503
@1amG0d4ndh31574C its the shield he's using. its called the grass crest shield? or something like that. it makes your stamina regen go up, and you find it in drakes valley by the sleeping demon dragon thats hanging off a cliff.
@kobuchowski I killed that dragon, but only found the Dragon Crest Shield/Astora's Sword/Soul of a Proud Knight by it, maybe its further down near the blue dragons?
I must suck horribly at this game. Im lvl 51 and im having a hard time. I just ran through areas im not really supposed to and gathered stuff from the corpses to get items. Then started grinding. Maybe going all melee was a bad idea. I cant even get arrows since i killed the guy who sold em by accident... He gives a sweet sword tho. Although my halberd is awesome and does jack tons damage.
lol i was killing him, and about halfway through he jumped up and flew back while firing away from me, and then dropped off the cliff... i thought dragons could fly? guess not. XD
No you get nothing but if you run all the way to the left on the narrow path you'll meet an ancient dragon and next to his left is the Atora or Astora sword, what ever its called, and the dragon crest shield. On the bridge where the corpse is theres a spider shield and the Brigandine set.
Take the path to the left and run past the drake there you run across an undead looking big dragon with astoria's sword and a dragon shield you can loot but then he wakes up. I shot him to death with about 80 arrows from a nearby alcove.
@thecrazyhand ya i was doing that, and can do it for a little while but i was chipping away such a small amount of his health it makes it difficult to strafe around him for that long of a fight.
@ReviewZoneHD He tends to be very slow so just keep you guard up and wait for him to strike. You will see the opportunity to land one hard blow. Keep doing this until he goes down. If you are fast enough you can wait for his strike then roll behind him and backstab. They are tough if you do not have a good shield. Go for the lower weight ones so your stamina allows you to strike. Do not get greedy land one or two blows at a time. If you try for more, you're done. Good luck.
Hey do you have any advice on how to kill that knight holding a massive club at the bottom of the watchtower in Undead Burg? I'm level 22 and he breaks through my shield in one shot and kills me.
@JackEveringham lol ya that latest dark souls video "first impressions" shows me getting smashed by him.. i tried fighting him like 3 times and then decided to save him for later. The tower isnt really set up to where you can push him off the stairs and for me i just wasnt doing enough damage to him.. i could stay alive for a few minutes but it seemed like it would be too long of a fight to bother with it for now
@ReviewZoneHD I killed him pretty easily, you just need to continuously strafe around him and backstab whenever there's an opening. I had gotten a Black Knight's Shield earlier, so I was able to block one of his shots if he landed, but it could be done without it.
@ReviewZoneHD Probably by now you should have figured that i doesnt matter which lvl you are, your average damage will be around 30~38, and backstabing depending on the damage of the weapon, I died like a bitch at Havel, but after reaching lvl 57, and telling myself "now i gonna teach him some damage" he still was recieving 38 damage, and 300 backstab damage, and hitkills you everytime he 2handes the Dragon Tooth.
@ReviewZoneHD I was about level 22 when I killed the big guy. His attack is super-slow, so all you have to do is circle him while target lock, and he won't be able to hit you (don't. Then backstab him (Drake Sword works best). Keep your shield up though (100% physical block is a must). I did try like 5-10 times tough :D
yeah, that guy is annoying, Havel the rock is his name, I picked a theif and got the masterkey, so when I came up to the hydra I unlocked the watch tower door and thought, "this place looks familier" and the BOOM he smashed me in the back and one shoted me...
@JackEveringham you have to take off all ur armour so u have the mobility even with armour ur still around a one shot unless he hits u indirectly with the club when u have taken off all your armour start strafing around it and backstabbing it good luck
@JackEveringham I cheesed it and went the back way. After you kill the Moonlight Butterfly, you can find the Watchtower Basement Key. That opens the back of that very tower which is accessible through Darkroot Basin up the hill to the right of the Hydra (if you're facing it). Peek through a little bit to make him come after you, he has a leash that prevents him from going down the steps. You can hit him a couple of times before he runs back in. Rinse and repeat.
@JackEveringham I actually beat him by getting naked and holding an axe with both hands. It's very easy to roll around all of his attacks with light armor (or in my case, none), and then get in a heavy blow, then back off and repeat. The challenge is really only the fact that you have to do it a lot since he has so much armor, and you can't let him touch you.
@JackEveringham He's pretty slow. If you close the distance fast you can circle behind him perfectly. Once he takes a swing, two handed or not you can backstab him. I had a mediocre axe and it took like 20 backstabs but he only hit me once and my shield with full stamina managed to absorb it. The only risk was when he does two handed swing he rotates a little so there's a chance he'll turn around and hit you but if you are circling at all times the chances are slim.
@JackEveringham The knight at the bottom of the tower is actually really easy. Put on light enough armor to allow yourself to roll or just go naked. When he goes to swing, wait until the last second and roll past him as close as possible, then back stab. If you roll too early he'll turn mid swing and murder your face though.
@JackEveringham. Yeah, he has an easy pattern. When he holds his club with both hands get close with your shield up and simply run to his left, your right. The swing will miss and you can go for a backstab. Don't roll because he will one shot you
@JackEveringham the trick is getting behind him, but I made sure that I could handle his attacks with a shield. If you can't block him it's a rough fight.
you actually find his armour in new londo (quite a bit further) and you can buy a pyromancy called iron flesh, which makes you unable to run/roll, but makes you take next-to-no damage. i equipped quelaag's furysword (+4), his armour (called havel's set) cast iron flesh, and just stood there smacking him. he died in a minute XD (i was level 52 though) you get a ring that reduces eqp burden by 50%
@JackEveringham All you have to do it backstab him a lot. Use the bandit's knife on the thief class or the Morning Star from Firelink Shrine since they inflict Bleeding damage. That knight only has that one vertical attack. Just watch very carefully and roll to the side when he goes to strike, then backstab him.
@JackEveringham if you have not killed him, I recomend a good shield, around 80+ of defense, plenty of bow ammo and soul arrow and Drake Sword. Just lure him to the stairs, evade and hit him with the sword and try to kick him so he might fall to damage him.
Also, use the bow and the soul arrow and keep evading and hit him one or 2 times.
Repeat some of those steps and you will kill him... But DONT let him hit you or you will be probably dead.
@JackEveringham i freaked when i saw him run up the stairs at me..he whooped my ass then i try to go back to recover my stuff he smashed through my shield one hit and i was level21
@JackEveringham i beat him at level 20. get the drake sword, then just dodge him. he's so slow. it's actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it.
@JackEveringham The Best weapon for the job is the Zweihander. After you've alerted the knight, immediately run back up the stairs and lead him to the door to the tower you're in and make sure he's following you. He'll smash his club down on you near the doorway when you're outside and hopefully miss. That's when you do ONE heavy attack on him then immediately retreat. He won't follow you if done right but instead he'll head back down.Get his attention again, rinse and repeat.
