  • When i heard this last nite, ifelt inspiration and hope

    Thanks Booker

  • These words shared by Mr. Booker were very encouraging to say the least. My slight problem that I have with this short testimony is that somehow we're suppose to participate in mental gymnastics. If I observe a poverty stricken neighborhood am I not to say so. I do understand the point the tenant manager was making, but is she being realistic. We all know that disparity has existed for over 6000 years. Mr. Booker would do well to realize that we live in a fallen world.

  • Former head of the World Health Organization’s global AIDS program, JONATHAN MANn (018-36-8674) isn’t related to JONATHAN Rabinowitz, a former law partner of Cory Booker—the mayor of New Jersey’s largest city, Newark. MANn’s surname has an “extra N”, while Booker’s first name, CORY, skips the “E” of traditional COReY. Pegged: Unrelated to the Peggy’s Cove disaster or idle “a life in politics” childhood themes, Swiss Air 111 crashed on the 168th birthday of U.S. Sen. William Pierce Frye: 9/02/98

  • It is nice to see there are some sensible Democrats left in this country. I believe that this guy should be in the WH instead of BO. He is twice the man, twice the mind and 400 times the speaker. While I disagree with him on several issues, I applaud him for his consistency, trustworthiness and commitment to his constituency. He is a great guy and a true Democrat, not like his whacked out Washington D.C. fellow partisans!

  • Learned about him in my American government class. I like him

  • i think he has to tell a hard lesson from an experience, and i can talk about this as my hard experience from a 3rd person who just views a simple video, this has just changed my mind

  • Wow!!! The mayor of my city got a featured YouTube video!!!

  • Interesting perspective. Learn to take wisdom where you find it.

  • Suks alot

  • Capitalism is a failure, worse than communism.

  • Horseshit. That woman was a deluded idiot who will never fix anything because she can't see the actuality of the situation. You can't ignore what's wrong so you can pretend everything is all good. And notice he had to throw in the religious bullshit too so he can get that faction on his side. Just another bullshit artist with a personal agenda.

  • It's the law of attraction. Who is this white dude?

  • LOL he's definitely very well spoke however my grandmother once told me that when it comes to preachers politicians and pimps "Many words Many lies" !

  • this is good...i dont like politicians but i like him.

  • EVERYONE NEEDS TO WATCH STREETFIGHT, the documentary about Cory and exposing the corruption that goes on in politics every day.

  • this dude speaks the truth....whoever says all politicians are liars is a liar

  • i thought this was goin to be some socialist/communist ... i am so happy i was wrong that was a good story really inspired me

  • Cory Booker is the BEST thing that has ever happened to America.

  • potato

  • What the community needs is steady jobs and public schools every bit as good as private ones...not to mention some improvement in environmental aesthetics. Civil folk come from civil environments. I like the way he talks. We should all talk like that. It almost makes me forget the dangers of the city.

  • if you really want to become a human being, you are going to have to stop being a politician.

  • smoke some weed, and change your world view in a way that fucking matters.

then again, if this corny woman with her cliche remarks can change your world view,

it might just be a little too much for you...

jesus christ dude dont u see how fucked you are if u need this experience

to open your eyes to one of the most obvious things in life???

christ dude, dont u see the reason u only see darkness????????

cuz u have been trained in a model in which there is no gain in seeing solutions.

  • As a native of NWK, I can honestly say that Booker is the biggest fake to ever be the mayor of NWK. Crime has sky-rocketed since he started his "war on crime"!!! The downtown is still not developing!!!!!! How many non-Newarkers are employed by the city? How much $ that could be staying in NWK is leaving to be spent by his buddies outside of NWK? The education system is sub-par. He didn't even own a home in Newark until he became mayor. He is just as big of a jerk as Christie, who is his friend.

  • @sadatsdot40 As long as all kinds of people are afraid to go downtown after dark, ain't nothing going to develop.

  • @vladdrac88 Point well taken!!! That should have been the first order of business (for ANY mayor. Past, Present, and Future)! Clean up, and SECURE, downtown. The major department stores have long since moved out; there is no night life, unless you go "Down Neck", and where the hell can you go after a Devils game??? You can catch the PATH to NYC, or Hoboken. Newark has to once again become a safe, viable option for shopping and entertainment outside of NYC.

  • @shellymathonson Awe are you actually having to pay into your own god damn pensions now...poor bitch, I hope Christie makes you pay all our health and retirement like the rest of us have to.

  • you lost me at that "face of god" part.

  • @NinkasiDelight

God as the God in us, the divine elevated inspiration. Look beyond words, think intention, and connect on that frequency people. One Love!

  • Thankyou for sharing this. I personally find this to be true everyday of my life and because of that I lead a very happy life helping other people with a hopeful attitude.

  • a well versed story, fucking douche bag. next he'll be wearing a bracelet that some war vet gave him after begging him to bring the troops home.

  • 1:36 he is fucking hot.. he should be a porn star, mhmhhh honey

  • Future President.

  • FAKE AND GAY

  • @TheMk1997 gay .. yes and fucking hot.. isnt him hot??? mhmhmh

  • THis is the worst excuse for a mayor I have ever seen. He cannot and will never uphold the constitution. He thinks restricing guns and their use stops criminals while at the same time, oh yea that's right.....CRIMINALS DON'T FUCKING CARE WHAT THE LAWS ARE. He voted for federal spending increase to his city several times and look at the quality of a shit hole it is now.

  • Booker is a fraud!

  • Good looking dude with all of the right words, like Obama.Sounds like he's going to run for a higher position.Real, really real close friend of Oprahs.the words are melodic and ear pleasing until elected.Obama s key word was CHANGE,boy did he.I know he inherited Bushs shit but how much has he done for the average person. His hands are tied as Jerimiah Wright said and you know who they're tied by.

  • Everyone should watch the documentary Street Fight. You'll realize Booker is a rare breed of politician that actually cares about his country.

  • @crazytgi

    You have no idea!

He is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

  • Cory Booker for president!!!!!

  • All you people on here complaining about what Corey Booker or President Obama is not doing for Newark/USA, my question to you is, "what are you doing?" Other than complaining, what are you doing for your community? Don't worry, I'll wait.

  • I agree with Cory and the great lesson he learned. Mother Theresa was a great example of how to look past the outer world and see LOVE in all things and people.

  • Absolutely incredible. Can't wait to meet him. And the Obama negative comments are so ignorant and unnecessary, I can guess your bank account and your values! Shameful.

  • Our perceptions of the world ALWAYS (not often) shape the reality we experience!

  • Ya thats all well and good but Newark is still a complete and utter shithole and it has been for decades, and thats the reality of it, if you want to pretend its all sunshine, unicorns and lollipops go right ahead but your just denying the obvious.

  • Cory Booker is the fucking man!

  • In Obama's defense, effectively producing “change” in the USA takes a bit more effort than turning around a city in Jersey. Not to discredit Booker; he's an honest politician that works his butt off.

What we need to do as a nation, instead of keep trying to elect one magical president that can fix *everything* - elect thousands of Bookers for each individual city. That would relieve stress off the POTUS (Rep or Dem), and he might actually be able to work, and not drown in problems/squabbling

  • @MaxwellSDSU two words in your comment contradict each other. honest and politician. but I get what you are saying. maybe instead of electing a certain leader or type of leader for each city in america, have the citizens do something to help as well. what good is a community if they aren't working to fix problems within the community?

  • Cory Booker is a man how work hard in is state to make it a better for is people , that is good thing.

  • Booker is doing a MUCH BETTER job of making Newark a better place. Yes, the riots have left a big scar in the history of the city. I hope that Newark will become better than it has been over the past years.

  • Cory Booker for President!!! He has the spiritual inspiration, vision, integrity, sincerity, and strength of character that we need!

  • My speakers aren't working so I cant' hear his speech. He didn't by chance suggest that the problems of Newark and other large cities could be solved if blacks would stop breeding indiscriminately and if black men would stop acting like animals, did he?

  • @packman26 You may want to rethink your comparison between Obama & Booker.Cory Booker is a great mayor of the city of Newark, but Obama has an entire country to look after and Congress to answer to.People may not like the president, but they need to realize he has to fix 8yrs of problems someone else created.

  • "When I showed up from Yale Law School." Who gives a shit? I'm tired of hearing about these politician's plugging their HARDVARDs and YALEs in videos that have NOTHING to do with them. Get to work! Show me some crime cessation, community clean ups and so forth. I'm getting sick of these politicians. Is there a true philanthropist or humanitarian that wants to conduce to the betterment of the community and not just boast about trivia?

  • I do not belive his story

  • This is positivism. I don't like it because it tends to ignore things that are really wrong by framing them differently. Just because you see a problem doesn't mean that you will give up and not solve it. Recognizing problems is the first steep to dealing with them. But you have to recognize them honestly. You cannot bullshit yourself

  • @dvdragon I agree with you. Newark is not a crap hole because people see that an abandoned building was used to sell drugs from. It's a crap hole because of "community activists" like Cory Booker. "Community activism" is short-hand for not solving problems.

  • And then hundreds of Agents Smiths descended down to do battle.

  • I need yalls opinion about my video. :).........Natural Dancing

  • Why is this man bald? I hate bald people.

  • wow, what a load of bullshit ...'I'm a politician because I want to make a better place' ...sure, everybody is.

  • one still needs to be honest how most in the top level of government are absolute crooks we need to send the crooks back to britain and germany not more community organizers

  • id vote for him and im conservative

  • i saw the movie about his election wow he is really inspireing

  • Cory Booker is the man. If he turns Newark around he's done the next to impossible and should be rewarded.

  • I first saw this guy when he was Conan's show.

  • sounds like every other politician telling ppl what they want to hear.

  • @PastorRush1977 Why would you even say that, you know nothing about this guy, you're pretty ignorant

  • Good luck cleaning up Newark, Corey. If you can even make a dent, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

  • @seriouslybad6767 Agreed x12

  • Awesome. Especially coming from a politician! (Even though Corey Booker is an exception in my book)

  • yeah, and I'm sure that none of the people Youtube will promote though these videos will run for president...

  • Wow. That is extraordinary!

  • Street Fight <3

  • ok.. so hang on.... if i dont see hope, and oppertunity, or god, in the projects or a crack house...... im doing somthing wrong... WHAT?!?!?! hes typical politician.

  • that was stupid

  • i have no idea about politics.....

    ignorance is bliss :D

  • I can foresee Cory Booker running for president in the near future.

  • @LAWoman323213 I'd vote for him.

  • Colomendo come on, I lived in Newark over 36 years and still do. Now be real what did you see police get laid off firemen, sanitation workers laid off. Is that what you saw or how about the murder rate, carjacking over the winter, people getting shot on Broad and Market all on his watch so open your eyes and deal with the truth.

  • Comments thriving on him and not what he proposes be done. And how much of a change is that that it's an inspiration to people who've commented? Not even mentioned. The actual change is in your understanding of the situation and of yourself. To lay responsibility for your experience of life on tiny structures is just a manner of not transforming it. Push to the edges, there are immensely bright people and always have been (there for us/our growth) - but they aren't mainstreamly accessible.

  • Something about his baldness I find weird. He reminds me of a supervillian lol

  • IDK why but I LOVE this man...and I'm gay so that's weird...but he's done such a good damn job...this man is not playing around. Too bad good politicians like him will either be tainted or pushed out before they even REACH presidential level.

  • Cory Booker is the real deal. He motivation inspires me to do better in my own life..and in the lives of others each day!

  • please just keep trying mayor booker

  • i do feel he does wat he can bt not the extra mile .....nd if u lived in my part of newark u would understnad

  • i sum times feel he dosent truly see wat goes on around him i am 17 and hav lives in newark most of my life and love to sing i feel he so many outlets to change this city but he doesnt use them ...its so sad bt mi and my sister dont have gud men to choose from in this city and are always have to fight for our education while trying to recieve it ...wat i think he needs to do is get of a suite and truly for a hole day not 10 mins walk in a newark teenagers shoes then he wud truly understand

  • Giving people hope is nice but, unless you plan to actually fulfill your promises, all the hope you create will be replaced with ten times the outrage and despair.

  • @VerumAdNauseam Giving people hope does not mean the welfare line is open for freebies. It means opportunity for those who believe and get off of their butts and take hold of it. hope goes as far as you allow it.The only promise that hope acknowleges is the one you keep to make your life better. All of Cory's promises are based on you taking hold of the vision he has laid out to help a city move forward. Do you believe in his vision for the city?

  • @chylly5 I can't trust anything politicians say. They are con artists. They give people hope by making promises they can't keep. In the absence of jobs, they promise welfare. In the absence of welfare, they promise jobs. What they will never promise is the opportunity for people to employ themselves. If people started employing themselves it would be a disaster for the IRS and for their stock market portfolios.

  • hes sexy lol

  • Thus, do not consume the mindset which they require you to to be. Lay not justification on the instutions erect to "assure" us. Hammer the TV. Philosophy!

  • For the actual business of radically changing society, understand Terence Mckenna. Yourself, instead of being told who in the game you are: it is required that position so and so remain in order for the primate hierarchical tops are maintained. The interest of politics isn't our collective growth - its maintenance of the figures which we submit to beheld - simply because we do not understand ourselves. Be the change you want to see in the world? Take responsibility for where you stand.

  • Hmm, that's an interesting point of view.

    I like this politician.

  • wow,thanks for sharing ......honestly, college career could often change a person`s world view . : )

  • Cory brings HOPE to what has been a hopeless city. I applaud and support what you are doing for our city.

  • He has always amazed me. He is a great politician and an even greater man.

  • Title of the video: "An experience that changed my world view"

First thing seen in the video: *american flag in the background*

Yeah........... Same old, same old american "world" view.

  • If you're just going to assume that every politician is a liar, then you're helping the liars, because the good and honest ones (and yes, they do exist; a lot of them in fact) are never going to get elected without that support.

  • "...or the face of God." <- Regardless whether or not he is intentionally spouting rhetoric, that line IS rhetoric, because if we as a species are unable to accomplish good without plastering the face of God all over it, then there is no hope for us. We need people who are good because they are intrinsically good, not because others have labeled something with a divine mandate.

  • @ixamraxi An intelligent person on youtube? I am shocked, good sir.

  • @Baleur More like, atheist.

  • Wow, I'm impressed by this guy, is he doing a good job in Newark?

  • I smell bullshit

  • Booker should beat up mobster goombah Chris Christie.

  • Are we supposed to know who Cory Booker is?

  • Fuck politicians

  • بطلوا تعريص يا بدان

  • is he black?

  • @leklek69 Yeah, that means he's also a fabulous politician, right?

  • @an0nim0uz no as a matter of fact that means that 16 viewers here are members of the Ku Klux Klan

  • true

  • i believe his message that hes trying to portray is ultimately to see more optimism in the world around you instead of focusing on the pessimism. That may be hard sometimes to those who are less fortunate in this world. I like this guy though, cool story bro.

  • Cory Booker is full of shit, I'm from Newark.

  • @RaSokar1974 Can you be more specific and back your comments with facts???? I'm from Newark too and have lived in the area for over 16yrs..., and saw the changes/transformation that's been going on here.

  • Same as any other politician. Free health care, or stop wasting my time.

  • Bastardooo

  • -This is Mr Bookers. Hes ALIVE because of me!

Mr Bookers: I thought you said there'd be some bitches here.

    - We just got here! Look around.

  • James Sharpe: THE REAL DEAL!!!!

  • Rât hay

  • "actions in fierce alliance with your morals" I like that

  • Fuck this guy.

  • This is total bullshit.

It's just some fucking politician shoveling the feel-good crap furiously. Look at the suit he's wearing, look at the tie, watch the trained way he uses his hands. No, this is a con job. He's jerking us off.

  • @R3dp055um I see an educated and well-to-do gentleman with positive ideas. Why does that make you angry?

  • Did anyone even watch this video? Cory Booker is one of the only honest politicians out there. He works his ass off every day, and doesn't deserve to lumped in with the rest of the system. He deserves much better than that. Unlike Obama, he's making a real change.

  • @packman26 Like what?

  • @packman26 You must not obviously be in Newark.

  • @packman26 So true. This man is a real hero!

  • @packman26 wah wah wah, whine about Obama etc

  • @packman26 that is how he appears since he first started serving, however, recently its hard for the people of newark to believe that when nothing has changed recently. As mayor he is suppose to be looking out for Newark's interest. It does not look good for him when money is being taken away from an already struggling public school district and he is no where to be found or avoids student protests against the governor. Yes he did do a lot when he first started, but so did Sharpe James

  • @packman26 You deceive your self man! this guy is just another puppet under a cloak of false kindness and shit I think.

  • @packman26 Get off your soapbox. Obama's just sitting on his butt? What is wrong with you people? You are going to complain about every president and politician. One person can't make a drastic change to 1000s of years or ravage. Whether Obama, Bush, or Trump. That's the reality. If he makes you happy, someone else will complain, if he makes them happy you will complain. Everyone has different views. As long as it's that way, no president will be 100% liked. Always 50/50.

  • @packman26 guess u dnt live n newark lol as a resident and knowing him personally this man practices nothing he preaches...all this tv shit is an act

  • @lrjdaking ahahahahahahah can you prove what your saying ?

  • @packman26 so he is a progressive/liberal?

  • @packman26 you be president for a day and see how much you get done

  • @packman26 Amen! Booker has been someone that I have admired for years. I would rather meet him than Obama. He is someone who I would put on my list of desired mentors.

This man is about getting things done for the better, not bipartisan rhetoric and band aid solutions.

  • you don't fool me with your rhetoric. u spend more time or self promotion, marketing, and primping than actually doing the strenuous job that a leader of a city/slum has to do-if you had any sense mr. young grasshopper u would have sought the advice of sharpe james. so he was convicted of improprieties? and he cared more about the inhabitants and the city of newark -i mean really really cared than you do. with your stupid twitter feel good messages--if u were working you would use it wisely.

  • Lies disliek

  • hahahah google eyes

  • oh please...get a better writer or better teleprompter. This is politics as usual. You want to be perceived as a man of sensitivity to those "poor souls, those less advantage. A wolf trying to be perceived as a lamb.

  • Thank you for sharing, I find this enLIGHTening and hopeful. I wish you much LIGHT on your paths that you all walk. Many blessings.

  • Spoken like a true politician. Choking on my own vomit..when are they going to stop the rhetoric and get busy enacting hard change.

  • @SuperEye2eye Ummm, have you SEEN what this man has been a part of, in Newark? He's NOT spewing rhetoric - he's living the change he wants to see in the world.

  • the thumbnail for this vid is epic

  • Just great!!! We can learn something new every single day; and this is a perfect example of that. Thanks for the video!! I really liked it!!!

  • Everyone below me: Grow up! Kids...

  • 6th baby.. yeah

  • 5th! and probably last

  • 4th!

  • 3rd!!!!

  • 2nd

  • first!
