Yellow tangs are one of the hardest species of tangs and will do very well in AT LEAST a 45gallon. They are hardy also which is a plus. But they do get bigger over a slow time and just sell him to a locally private owned Fish aquarium store. They should be happy to take him off your hands. HOPE THIS HELPS =)

How is the tang doing? Can they do well in a 46 or will it need to be moved into a bigger tank once it outgrows the one it's in? Please reply!!
