Sunn(0))) started out as a tribute band but has gone more into the noise aspect of drone whereas Earth has progressively mellowed out they're tone. Neither is better both are equally great in their own rights

You must have been at the Philly show at the chapel. Dude that was fucking insane, man. I was wearing earplugs and it was like it didn't matter. The best part was the finale where he stood the guitar upright on the amp and the multiple waves of feedback were smacking us in the face. None of the death metal shows I've seen were that heavy. Truly awesome that was.

That's right I was there, and it was intense and ear abusing. I too especially loved the finale, when the amplifiers were recieving an almighty praise from Sunn O))). Great show.

Haha, I was at that too, best show of my life. More bands should drink red wine when playing. I loved how one of them was too sloshed to balance his guitar on the amp so he just jammed it between two of the amps after beating them with the guitar neck for awhile.
