If you want a good vampire book that has a great romance in it. I would suggest The Vampire Diaries Series. It's a great book series. Also, I don't like Twilight either. I couldn't finish the last book.

I only need to be supplied with ammo, since i don't need water and can literally EAT the enemy. The books are very inconsistent proving that Stephanie Mayer doesn't know her own characters. I mean Bella is supposed to be the most selfless person out there, but has no problem completely using Jacob in New Moon and Eclipse. And her never ending complaining can really get to a person.

Her explaination for sparkles is the concept of vamps being beautiful to draw you in. And she exaggerated that to try to be original when she's not, and she failed.
Anne Rice is amazing, and is the "vampire queen". NOT Steph Meyer. Its not fair that she's noted for vamp lore when she added more to werewolves, and either way it sucks.
I liked the Lost Boys, both of them. First was better though.

thats the main problem i had with the series...the lack of character growth. i mean, bella has this seemingly normal life, moves to forks, and hangs out with vampires....and nothing happens. she's still the same. maybe its just me, but wouldn't you think after all that crazy shit happens to her, she would look at life a bit differently? especially in a series, characters grow and mature but none of the characters in these books really grew. really disappointing to read 4 books and no one changes
