I was reading the Ansem's reports on my KH games, and Ansem the Wise said that Namine is Kairi's nobody, but she has the essentials from Sora. I think that's why she doesn't look exactly like Kairi, more like Roxas/Ventus (Any one else notice that?). Also, that's probably why it's a different voice. Maybe when Kairi's heart went into Sora (when Ven was there too), Namine was created, but was somehow effected by Ventus? I don't know. Someone should tell me what they think.
I think she's really good as Namine, she puts something in her voice which sounds like weariness and a sign of a tough life - which is exactly how it is for Namine. Also, do you see how it's done, Mena Suvari!? You can put emotion in a voice, you know, it doesn't have to be all floaty and weird.
@Kimilouluvspie :/...they arnt the same (well roxas and sora arn't) its complicated, what i meant was that by playing BBS it will give you a hypothesis of why they are different...idk xD
i love britany snow, but that fact that she says "alter ego" kinda bothers me because thats not the correct term and if ur playing a character u should know that correct term... but thats just my opinion.

Yes Namine isnt an alter ego, but this could have been filmed during the recording sessions where the voice actors might not have known a lot about their characters at the time, cause all they kind of did was a give a breif description of thier characters and what they liked about the kingdom hearts franchise.
I don't know, I think she said it like that because people who are new to the franchise may have just been checking this out. I'm just speculating, but that could be a possible reason. :/
i didnt like the fact that she told us a spoiler but ive aldeady played it so im alright i liked her im hairspray she was good but it is true what she said kids can play it because of the characters and because its fun and adults can play as well because of the storyline and issues that is in it ^_^
Sora gave his heart to Kairi in the first game, right? From what I've heard, Namine's birth was caused by Sora's sacrifice to Kairi. And then after Sora turned back into human, Roxas was born.
youre sort of right actually... its kinda confusing.
kairi's heart went into sora in the very beginning of the first game. remember when destiny island was being destroyed? then sora released both his and kairi's heart with that new keyblade that ansem/riku used. when sora lost his heart, he became, obviously, a heartless. thats when roxas was born. so... namine was born during the time destiny islands was taken over by heartless.
Amazing how all the voice actors look like their character parts.
