Jesus Christ is a relatively recent historical figure. He was born when Publius Sulpicius Quirinius was governor of syria, when Augustus was emporor of Rome and He die when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judaea. These are all historical figures we can identify. To say Jesus did not exist is silly.

Clement for example was not contemporary. He was born 60 years after Jesus supposedly died. I can go on, but there were historians alive when Jesus supposedly lived, and not a one mentioned Jerusalem's David Copperfield.

The first Christians btw were gnostics. They didn't believe in a human son of God. Jesus was created by man, many years after he supposedly lived.
