  • Awww moth fur is nice to pet by fingertip! =)

  • ****Update**** What a great year, we have had above average rain fall and Smerinthus cerisyi is loving it, I have now photographed six individuals this year! Usually you see one or none so this is just amazing, they just keep showing up at my door, there is one on each side right now, I think it is because I leave my porch light on all night?

  • it's evil... i'm terrified of moths...

  • beautiful!

  • omg. i saw one of these things at school. my area doesn't normally get moths this size so it was like mothzilla for me. lol. i named him mothra but he got away. oh well. he was really pretty.

  • Very nice. I believe Cerisy's sphinx is endangered, too. Keep plenty of hst and nectaring plants around, help build them up.

  • I was at Disenyland Anaheim tonight [April 18] in the early evneing by the Alice in Wonderland ride and by the tree, just you leave the Cheshire cat and white rabbit to end the ride, were a bunch of white-lined sphinx moths having dinner in the blossoms, and don't thing that said moths went unnoticed by everyone!

  • Cute!!

  • I saw on of those once they're HUGE really beautiful at first I thought it was a bat.

  • Beautiful, beautiful. . Sphinx Moths are my all time favorite of the Lepidopterans.
