I bought the book, movie, and soundtrack CD. Brilliant. I liked the screenplay, written by the author, Michael Cunningham, better than the book (first time ever!) ...all good stuff.

Casual nudity and love is fine unless someone is uptight about their sexuality.

it's been a long time so i don't know if you'll see this but thank you for putting thi s clip together...very nicely done. i don't know how i never saw it before but just this past sunday i stumbled on it and watched it twice in a row. ilove the story, the music is amazing (i'm buying the sound track, probably the dvd too) and i don't know how Colin Ferrell didn't get nominated for an oscar. What I like about the Clare/Bobby couple is that Clare is actually the "man" in the relationship and Bobby the "woman" ; but I prefere by far his relationship with Jonathan... they're cute when they're dancing together :)

An under rated, devastating movie with an outstanding cast. So many moving scenes and I remember almost falling out of my seat when I saw this in a theater the first time around, the scene on the terrace, with the Manhattan skyline in the background, and some "opera queen's" recorded version of Mozart's trio "Soave sia il vento" from Cosi Fan Tutti wafting up to the terrace and Bobby and Jonathan dance. None of what I just wrote can convey the dramatic truth of those on screen moments.
Never heard saw this movie til I was baked and bored last night flipping through the channels as this came on. It was pretty good at the begining especially since i was baked as hell at the time and so were the characters, the movie seemed to drag on at times for me and I fell asleep at the end so I probably need to see the last half hour but not bad.

I think it may have been because it was completely new. He said he'd never done that before and, well can you imagine going through life until your that age and suddenly being hit with this whole wave of new feelings and sensations that you've never had to deal with before. It would be a bit overwhelming i imagine.

For some reason, I felt so disgusted how Bobby was the guest in the house and he driven Jonathan to move out becuz of his "love" for Claire. I just felt disgusted how Bobby can be so naive and innocent yet hurt both of em by having a sex affair with one and a heart to heart affair with the other.
but i think its could be discovery of sense of new relatedness, he looks confused about his sexuality in the film, and may be he found comfort with a woman, and cried 4 why could he not find that pleasure before in his life...
Later of course, the relations from the past and how they turn out in the future and the personalities they are, makes this film distinct and suitable for a niche i guess

There are indeed many wonderful moments in this film, and I've always adored Bobby - he's very sweet. Personally, I would have loved to see the scene with him, Clare and Rebecca on the bed. Clare seems to look right into his soul at that moment. Bobby has been through so much, and he's genuinally happy just to be with the people he loves. Thank you for this, you did a great job. :)

For some reason, I felt so disgusted how Bobby was the guest in the house and he driven Jonathan to move out becuz of his "love" for Claire. I just felt disgusted how Bobby can be so naive and innocent yet hurt both of em by having a sex affair with one and a heart to heart affair with the other.

i felt like askin the same Q..
but i think its could be discovery of sense of new relatedness, he looks confused about his sexuality in the film, and may be he found comfort with a woman, and cried 4 why could he not find that pleasure before in his life...
Later of course, the relations from the past and how they turn out in the future and the personalities they are, makes this film distinct and suitable for a niche i guess
BTW That is still my openion and i did not direct that scene!

Maybee that's because he's opening a new gate before closing a nother one... a lots af regrets and hopes in the same time. That's hard to take.
Or maybee it s not realy what he was imaging about, maybee he's dissapointed... but I don 't want to believe that.

There are indeed many wonderful moments in this film, and I've always adored Bobby - he's very sweet. Personally, I would have loved to see the scene with him, Clare and Rebecca on the bed. Clare seems to look right into his soul at that moment. Bobby has been through so much, and he's genuinally happy just to be with the people he loves. Thank you for this, you did a great job. :)

This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. I wonder if they will do a sequal with Rebecca coming back all grown up, now that would be interesting, Colin Farrell has grey hair now it could work, but sad without Jonathan.

No, actually he is Omnisexual, he can fall in love with anyone. The reason Bobby was crying is because he was thinking of his brother who he'd walked in on in that position with a woman right before the brother died, it really doesn't help matters that she also said the exact same thing (about sex) that Bobbys brother had.

This movie was somethin more than just sex.. i liked the way the director potrayed the strong characters and with such an ease.. Sissy spacek made me weep all the time she came on screen i dont know for what reason.. BUt i could not understand Bobby morlow.. at all.. could some 1? was he gay, a confused streight guy or just some 1 somewhere at some situation? probably using Jonathan... who came from relatively stable background?
