  • I adore Bernards work. He is my all time favorite author. I am currently reading "The Fort" and I am lost for words, "Azincourt" was breathtaking, but this is in a class above the rest. I highly recomend any of Cornwells novels to any newcomers to his work. They are all majestically good.

  • my dads last name is cornwell... lol

  • uhtred is like the koolest dude im on pale horsemen (dont understand title) and i wish hedve picked ragnar over alfred

  • Cornwell is good, Forester is great, O'Brien is god.

  • Ive read Gallow's thief, Azincourt, Stonhenge, and now im on the sharpe novels this guy is one of the greatest authors of historical fiction hands down thank you Mr. Cornwell you are great

  • Bernard is legendary. I would suggest the Saxon and Warlord chronicles. Absolutely superb. As are are all of his other works. Amongst Harry Sidebottom and Tim Severin, he is a favourite.

  • This man is awesome !

I loved the description of the officer's training in a Hamsptead Pub!

Now Sharpe would definately approved of that! Thanks for posting.

  • I have read Stonehenge and the Saxon series as well as a couple of Sharpe books. The Saxon stories are the best. Uthred is awesome.

  • Thanks for the upload authorinterviews.

Cornwell isn't quite right about the purchase system. It was possible to go beyond a major and buy the rank of lieutenant colonel.

  • So far I've only read Sharpe's Gold and Sharpe's Fury but I'd like to start on his Arthurian books.

  • read all the sharpes first, they are the best

  • Saxon series is his best work

  • iv read all of the sharpe books- all 24:) and all of the grail quest books:)

  • I've only read the grail quest...and it's great...I think I will continue reading this guy's work!!!

  • Dude, thats nothing compared to the Saxon Series, check it out!

  • try the warlord chronicles

its arthur and merlin but definatly the best version of that story its nothing like the storys you hear as a kid

  • I love the Saxon books. Uthred is my fucking rolemodel.

No politically correct bullshit. Pure brutality baby.

  • Yeah great books love them read 2 of them in one week

  • Richard Sharpe is much better

  • cornwell is just awesomeeeeee.

those who love his Arthur series should also try Firelord by Parke Godwin

  • Thanks I will , I've just finished all 3 in the Arthur series and feel lost with nothing to read.

  • My all time favourite writer. So in tune with history and it's brutality.

  • enemy of god is my favourite book, the warlord chronicles are fantastic. grail quest is also good, and those new ones about uhtred are awesome! such an amazing author.

  • they are the best ones he's written in my opinion. (note: i've only read about three sharpe books)

  • read the warlord chronicles, about king arthur, they are great

  • He sounds surpriseingly posh.

  • I read all except for Starbuck stories. Cornwell is great

  • Your missing out mate, the starbuck books are great!

  • just red 2 books of the king alfred-books. (the only ones of the series, appeared in german).

How are the Arthur- and the Sharpe- series?

  • only one's I've ever read are the Sharpes, READ THEM THEY KICK ASS

  • i totally agree

  • i havent read the Sharpes, but Warlord Chronicles (Arthur) is smashing! they should make a movie or 3 out of it.

  • Sharpe is great. The Warlord Chroncles (about Arthur) are his absolute best. The Saxon Stories are also to die for, eh? Read Lords of the North or Sword Song yet?

  • I've read Lords Of The North, and the rest of The Saxon Tales. They're awesome!
