  • kathy cook...legend....drug free.....

  • kathy cook true hero

  • You just go 'head and bring it then, Ms. Brisco!! Most people forget FloJo was the silver medalist here...4 years prior to her WR's! They both team up again on the '88 Olympic 4x400--an epic race vs USSR where they set the American Record that still stands...

  • well done kathy! i guess ottey was the true champion! would have loved 2 see the east germans beat the americans in L.A!

  • Valerie Brisco-Hooks' wins were SO suspicious. She virtually came out of nowhere to claim those golds, then went back to relative obscurity again. Nowadays she looks like a whale, by the way, according to some news on Kersee I read recently (not that it matters, I just thought I'd write about it).

  • @zim83 Well, in her defense, she hadnt run two years before because she had a baby. She also did keep up her form because she was 4th in the 88 olympics and won a silver on the relay. She had a long career actually.

  • lots of athletes from this era where on drugs, imagine no mandatory testing,it's difficult to say someone was that good or not. This was prime drugs era, with those from the super power countries having more access. But when you look at Ottey's bio, you'll see that she is the most consistent performer in terms of times, she didn't just get up and made a big jump like some people, her times are consistent even after that farce drugs thing. She's still runnng, i bet none from her time still can.

  • @Ras09true Not a big jump eh... her best time in 1979, when she was a 200 meter specialist, was just under 23.00 seconds, she ran to a bronze the next year at the Moscow games, with a 22.20.. that is quite a jump, and she used drugs throughout her career...

  • Val Brisco was not a clean athlete...

  • @yescanto I"m agree with you, especially she broke 22 sec only twice in her career. Here she did 21.81 and certainly about 21.75 if she had taken a good start ( I find that her response time is pretty poor, isn't it ? ). And she realized an excelent 48.83 in the 400m in this OG while she broke 50 sec in this event only five times in her career. DOUBTFUL

  • @BOOMSLANG85 Well what is most doubtful is her p.b. for the 400m going into the games and the fact that she was no where to be found in 82, and 83 as far as world rankings. Her previous best 400m 51.60 's, also Bob Kerese is know to have traded information with Charlie Francis, and the USTA covered for dirty athletes , and LA OOC destroyed documents of the positive tests of the US athletes.

  • @yescanto neither were the east germans lead by marita koch who would've crushed evey here....who was clean that won ?

  • @LVSWTZ Ashford

  • @yescanto LMAO!...yep!...no doubt

  • So true Val was not clean... she was no where to be found in the years prior to these games ! Not even world ranked...

  • STATISTICS CALCULATION - from

    BR-0 com/olympics htm

  • FloJo had a bad hair day, lol

  • brilliant effort by kathy in an amazing line up.

  • @bigpaulothe1st Yes it was and considering that the 3 girls in front of her here, are all drug users, maybe Flo and Val were not caught in competition, but they had the benefit of the USTA covering for the cheaters all through the 80's and most of the 90's.

  • @karrtt1234 Who's covering for the jamaicans today?
