  • props to anyone who remembers the movie "ultimate x" where the clip originally came from

  • For a real downhill sport do NOT try brushfire sleds just stick to what ur doing. Happy shredding

  • LAY DOWN...GO FAST....AMEN!

  • what's the name of song ?

  • @boiachimolla23 Whispering Wind Moby

  • @ziomkris1 Thank you ;)

  • @boiachimolla23 No problem ;)

  • Not bad... but for a real downhill sport, check out Brushfire Sleds. No one can catch a Brushfire!

  • He is saying check the truck because it shows just how fast the luge's are travelling

  • yeaah that's a normal truck I guess

  • i wanna play :D

  • Nice editing...G...

  • wow i would love to do this , looks so fun

  • hey i got this on dvd!

  • Sick! I see Chris Chaput in there, as well as either John or Dave Rogers.

  • video is quality, luved it. does anyone knowthis song i recognize it and its driving me crazy

  • wispering wind by moby

  • Thank you so much for sharing.. However this managed to be made.. I'm so glad it was..!!! This is amazing!! I can't help but want to do this

and experience what it would be like and compete with design and skill.. Completely Inspiring from both a sport and design standpoint.

  • Nice choice of music. Shows up the artistry of the sport.

  • why do they have two frount trucks?

  • cuz the ideal weight distribution on a luge 65 front and 35 back. it makes it so all the wheels have equal weight on them.

  • check the truck on the bridge as they slide into the final turn under the dark heights of the concrete pillars into the diagonal yellow lines and bright finish lights ???????????????

  • hes saying that part is the sickest you fool, cuz it looks really cool

  • that was alot of hay bails

  • Everyone rode red classic solid kryptos there

  • wow, that is so cool

  • what is the name of the movies this is in?

  • What road is this?

  • Falls Road onto Neill Drive in Philly

i am working on getting the road closed again for a DH race sometime for this summer, stay tuned.

  • I want in on that, would also help with logistics and permit stuff i guess.

  • Insane in the rain!!

  • grandissimo video

    * * * * * (5 stars)

  • gravity sports pay more that x games

  • whats the deal about the truck? i didnt notice anything out of the ordinary.

  • even though it doesn't seem as big as the x games/gravity games days, but the tide is turning now, membership is up world wide. events of 200 riders sell out within hours, races are being held everywhere, unites states, canada, brazil, south africa, england, france, sweeden, germany, switzerland, itatly, austrialia. the 2008 maryhill festival of speed is going to be on NBC this year, the first major tv event in years. the tide is turning, and i am excited to be part of it. ride on gravity racers

  • hey can i get the name of this song its nice

  • whats the song in this video?

  • Damn, bring luge and stand up downhill skateboarding back to the xgames!

  • used to be cool? i still think its cool :( wats to bad about that!

  • remember when the x games used to be cool

  • those were the days.....

  • I think it still is man we got the big air ramp and all. But I think its drifted a way from what skateboarding really is. But I really miss the street luge events at X Games. But the reason they took them out was because they wanted more "Arena" events that people would buy tickets too.

  • corporate world for you, also took out climbing as well, mind you unless you do it then most people cant understand the difficulty, or that really only appeals to people who do it anyways

  • Oh yeah, i remember that stuff man, I kinda always wanted to do that...cept free climbing.Man what happened to shows like

Planet X that were all about random sports that required extreme skills. I miss the 90s action :(

  • its probably bettered the sport more that they took it out, because it hasnt gotten comercialized like skateing has, kids get in to get rich and get in the X games, but not with luge, you do it because you love to, not to win an award

  • omg shut the fuck up.

  • matchcore, you are right, it has stayed as a grassroots sport that still has a tight knit community tat rides for fun and not for money.

  • yup. and as tkruger has shown, it will probably stay that way. Thank GOD.

-Hammer, 16, Austin Tx, Streetluge fanatic-

  • exactly, i was just thinking about that. the problem with having luge and longboarding events, not to mention other sports i am forgetting, is all about the location! they would have to have somewhere with a nice long fun hill for us luge/boarders.

:( sad, but probably true. arena is what they are all about now.

  • cool because it had downhill skateboarding........how is that a sport - a skateboard is for going on ramp and doing tricks.......if you want to race down a hill try street luge...it is where people go down hills on boards with wheels attached to them.......X-games has skateboarding but it is vert and street.....so, why don't you get good at skating and do that instead....ok good bye.

  • Have you ever broken the speed limit on a skateboard? Once you start getting above 40mph the rush is insane. Kickflips don't get everyone's rocks off.

  • Oh for sure they don't. Lots of cops and store owners hate skaters.

  • ok, you shouldn't diss anyone who boards cuz goin that fast is insane, i give anyone who races props

  • bogoos

  • this sport looks like it would hurt ure neck

  • nah, the way the luge is built its actually really comfortable

  • choice

  • "choice" ??

  • sweet/nice/cool

  • ohh hella sweet

makes me wanna going lugeing all the time

does any one know the name of the song?

    cheers

  • Its Whispering Wind by Moby i believe

  • In the descrip it says to check the truck. WHAT THE FUCK FOR? theres nothing special about it, its just a white truck.

  • Not sure if Im looking at the right part but when they cross the finish line the luge of the guy in the blue suit is sliding back and forth like crazy.

  • he meant the truck of the luge.

  • LAOASKAI

  • um dos melhores q já vi !!!!!

  • how can you want the song its like just a rythm

  • Whispering Wind - Mody

  • yes please share the song title if you know it please please because i love it thank you

  • Whispering Wind - Moby

  • whats the song title if anyone knows... thanks

  • Whispering Wind - MOBY

  • wet road?? ARE THEY RETARDED!! THERE ON A WET ROAD!! last time i went on a wet road i slid into a ditch and broke my nose and leg

  • i have done this road a few times. we are working on getting it closed again for a speedboard and luge race.

  • that footage is FUCKIN AWSOME!!!...and the song is so chilled out, love it thx for sharing

  • awesome video, thanks for sharing

  • That's some amazing footage! Does anyone know who shot that? I'm a Streetluger and freelance videographer too.

  • Do streetlugers construct their own luges, or do they buy them?

  • I dont know of anywhere or anyone who mass produces streetluges. I always built mine, and everyrder ive ever met was the same. Each luge has to be very specifically custom built to each rider, that mass production is difficult.

  • I'd never be able to build a luge, I'm bad with tools! I'm more into stand-up longboarding, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't want to try something new.

  • There's a book you may want to get. It's not expensive, its called Stretluge Survival Guide by Darren Lott. It break down every aspect of streetluge including construction, with some very basic and simple designs to build one for CHEAP! I had been luging for a while when I bought it, and still learned alot. I even buillt a few of his luge designs and loved them.

  • this was from the imax movie ultimate-x

  • Thanks!

  • yeah course iwould! are you daft?

  • That is amazing! Thank you very much for sharing. :)

  • This footage was from the 2001 X-games in Philadelphia. Unfortunately it was the last year Street Luge was in the games.

  • yer i kno it was. dam shame. i started competing in about 2004 but been riding buttboard outlaw since abt 2002. have ridden with pete eliot (GB) before who competed in the X-Games. Streetluging has chamged over past few years and b nice 2 c it again in the X-Games

  • wow old skool footage lol. reconise Tom Mason in there! what year is this just wondering?

  • Freaking Amazing Photography!

  • Agreed!
