hell they should make a new resident evil movie and start with the history of the mansion, the guardhouse and the lab, focus on the people who lived in the guardhouse and mansion. tell the stories of the people who set up the secret basement of the guardhouse, who blocked the ladder headed down, the people who hung out at the bar in the guardhouse.

shoot scenes where everything starts to go wrong, when people start to turn, the guy who wrote in his diary. who the hell made the movie anyway?!

A real great idea to really bring re back to it's roots is to make a game of the trevors and see what really went down in the mansion before chris and co showed up, showing a younger spencer when umbrella was only forming, call it resident evil begins: umbrellas uprising: the real fate of the trevors, they can easily go back to typwriters that way, no more action hero stuff, give us the chance to play as a scientist and see itchy tasty guy before.

@Adventure2TheUnknown nah, i'm fed up with both modern horror movies and game based movies. most game based movies fail because they are hard to adapt and/or they get incompetent people to do so, and somehow hollywood has forgotten how to make proper horror movies. maybe if they stopped using nudity and teenage victims they could produce something worth watching.

i'd LOVE to see a resident evil done right though, don't get me wrong, but it won't happen.

cntd: I say get naughty dog to do a survival horror, they've already proven that they can if they really wanted to, uncharted 1 and 2 had more scare and jump moments than re4 and 5 could ever muster and that's an action game series, which says a lot about resident evil today, being surrounded by the zombie pirates in uc1 was much more tense and scary then anything in the last 2 re games, you really felt helpless and drake reminded me of old chris (before roids, angst and boulder punching).

Its as if the composer's direct feelings of what he thinks of as he walks into a room were imprinted onto the music. Amazing soundtrack. The fear this game evokes makes RE5 look like a joke. Its supposed to be Resident Evil, not Metal Gear.

Remake was the pinnacle of re to Me, re zero was good as well (exc the plot), had mikami and capcom not moved it to gamecube though it would've got a crapload more sales and due to that they thought the series was stagnatating due to lower sales when it had a crapload of sales on sonys consoles since it started there, tons of people would buy remake if it was ported to psn and 360 along with zero but capcom won't do it :( they're still milking re4 again.

Another problem is even if they bother trying they keep using the same old characters and it's not believable anymore, they've been through the horror enough times to make it look like a parody (ie they still survived) which is why new blood is desperately needed, the bioterror angle dropped along with super humans and world domination bs, just an old fashioned back to basics re would do Me or a remake of re2 and 3 in vein of remake but that's never gonna happen :(.

I couldn't tell you man, it feels like we're more in an age where any old crap will do and we'll accept it (with a few exceptions), when re hit shit creek I tried out siren blood curse and haven't gone back, now that's survival horror, try beathing the enemies up and they'll kill you in your tracks, you need to hide, se through their eyes and unlike this series characters will die no more back for home and ready to kick some biohazard the series now established :( and no new blood.

RE4 and RE5 aren't scary in the same way as the originals. 4 and 5 are scary because you have maniacs with chainsaws that can kill you instantly if they get too close and things like that. The originals were scary cause you had limited control of your character with things popping out at you and limited ammo. They are both scary in their own right. Plus if since everyone who played the originals as kids or young adults naturally won't be as scared by anything now that you're older.

I can kind of see where it sounds confusing but I was comparing this music(PS) to Resident Evil Remake (GC). DC isn't really a remake in my eyes, just an alternate play through. Lol, I was playing my original RE a few days ago, I love remembering that creepy freaked out feeling me and my guy friends experienced. Never played such a f*cked up game (tension/fear factor wise) back then. Director's cut changed the music and still left out the gore scenes, that pissed me off.
