Why not just boil the oil off and in the process crack it into gas or something.. That's not much different than how they process crude oil which is just a gunky..
@dcbird I can't answer that specific question (this isn't my video) but Scenedesmus is much better than Chlorella from what I've heard. I also hear Botryococcus (bo-tri-cau-cus) is very good for lipid content.

How much oil do you get from 1 kg algal sludge? Did you centrifuge algae? We grow chlorella but it only runs about 20% oil.
