Nice cover, but this was not REAL Jessi Colter music cuz she didn't write it herself. The reason her solo career was so huge while it lasted was because she wrote her own songs, and they were all VERY GOOD.

She's a fine interpreter, but this sucks compared to her first two Capitol classic solo albums, and the Wanted: Outlaws album, which are absolutely untouchable.

They sort of threw this album together on-the-fly, after the "Outlaws" album, and you could tell. She barely wrote any of the songs (unlike her first two Capitol albums) and her voice was lame. But this album went gold with no hit singles to speak of.

This song stunk compared to Jessi's original material. Capitol should have committed to promoting her as a Carly Simon-style act, and she would've had far more shelf life.

Though I've heard many different artists do versions of this classic, I have NEVER heard one even close to Jessi. I heard this just after it was released on the radio and still shed tears almost everytime that I hear it. After my wife of over 43 years, died in 2006, this song really brings back so many wonderful memories.
